Hello there.

I am having a little bit of a trouble here.

One of the characters for my game is supposed to have a completely red skin (she's a demon). The problem is... There's no red skin inside the generator.

I tried editing the face, doesn't work.

Tried to edit the body, photoshop won't let me even touch the file.

By the way, I am not interested in the face. Just the body to display while moving around in the game. I am using my own art for faces.

How can I do this?

Please, help.

I'd investigate why "photoshop won't let me even touch the file". More of an explanation is needed there. What happens when you try, do you get an error message? Is Photoshop set to look for the correct extension, and did you save your character with the correct (.png) extension?

You COULD edit the generator files directly, but you'll definitely want to make a copy of it first.

Well... This is what I tried so far:

I copied the file out of the RPG Maker folder to assure that I had a safe copy to work on.

Then I opened it in photoshop. I usually can do good stuff in it, I'm not a complete amateur... But this time the only layer of the image was locked and there was no way to remove it, add more layers, nor anything else. Completely unable to touch it.

do you need that part for several actors?

If you need it for only one actor, then why don't you just edit the finished sprite (saved to a position of your choice) instead of the parts from the generator?

isn't there a way to effectively change the tint/color of your character through hue's? I remember someone talking about doing that a while back and making them get redder and look drunk or something. I forget. but I'm sure it's not that hard

Even though you already found another way already. The reason why photoshop might not let you change the file is because you have to change the setting to rgb (that's what I have to do in gimp for some files).

To add on what Baka-chan said, it's because the mode is set to index, so you can't do much to it. Just set it to RGB, or copy and paste the image into a new file, and you're good.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
