Hello!

I'm on a strict deadline (again) due to my pushy client. They wants an RPG game with low size which is suitable for android games. I did completed the project, but when it comes to sending the file, they rejected it because of the size (which is too big for them). I tried to delete some unused files and I can't reach their maximum size needed.

So, my friend gave a software suggestion which will compress the size of the audio files. But the software ends up ruining the quality of the audio. :kaodes:Is there any software suggestion which will compress the size without decreasing the quality of the audio?

Please, this might save my life.:kaocry:

I've used the Enigma Virtual Box software for my projects. It turns it into an EXE file and compresses it a little. It's easy to use too. Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but it's worth checking out.

you have a limit for android,(100mo if i remenber) but the ability to add internal extention update for ressource, after install apk.
There is no real miracle solution.

pass all your picture in https://tinypng.com/
you will save some space, otherwise the only option is to update your game to download the resources after the installation.
your Android account allows this method quite easily with Intel XDK
It allow add Expention pack.

you need zip ressource in a apk zip lib
https://developer.android.com/google/play/expansion-files.html#ZipLib

for audio , more compression = less quality
you must choose a compromise

I think that this limit is only for the way of making apk by following the tutorial. I've seen apks up to 7GB years ago(now don't ask me why neither where :p )

@Topic:>
Try deleting some of the audio files according to the plataform you're going to export. Every audio file is duplicated in .ogg AND .m4a (one used for android and the other for iphone, i don't know wich is for each plataform, neither know if what i'm saying is true), so deleting half for 1 plataform and the other half for the other may help a lot, if it works.

Well i've one more idea

I heard that .apk is basically a zipped file(like .rar and .zip files). So try compressing it(use winrar, right click INSIDE the game's folder, selecting all files -> add to archive,in compression method select "Best",in the "Archive format" select ZIP[RAR5 is better, but i don't know if it would open in android, you can test it], then in "Archive name" remember to put ".apk" in the end) after that add the extra files that an apk requires to work(you can look inside your old .apk wich files are different, and copy then to your new apk).

I never tested it, but if works, will reduce in at least 20~50Mb the project size. And that's probably the best possible

@Jonforum Intel XDK was discontinued earlier this year (2017) and is no longer available. An alternative was created called PhoneGap, but that only works for projects that are no larger than 50MB. The only way to make APK packages exists in the manual.

Edit: The setup for the Apk package is out of date. I can't make the package and I followed all the instructions.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
