I remember reading a Post on this Forum a few months ago that most people prefer not to update RPG Maker MV beyond a certain version. My game (Which I'm yet to make) mostly uses Yanfly Plugins. However, I might play around with a few other Plugins later on.

What Version do you recommend for my Game Project ? Should i update it to 1.6.2 (Latest version) and not be worried about any of this or be more careful about Compatibility of some Plugins with certain versions ? What are the Benefits I get by updating it to the Latest version and what do i lose out on, by not updating it ?

This might sound like a silly question, But I ask this because I'm getting a friend to map for me, I don't want to end up giving her the wrong version of my Project and regret it, Later on.

Thank you for your replies in advance.

you're missing one detail info.

That decision depends on whether the plugin writer is active or not.
An active plugin write usually updates his/her plugins whenever a new MV-version comes out, and in such a case you should always be at the latest version - just sometimes you have to wait one or two weeks with the update in case the newest changes made a plugin incompatible and the plugin writer has not yet updated the plugin.

The problems only start if you're using plugins from someone that had left the community and no longer updates the plugins (in some cases other plugin writers might take over to keep the plugins active, especially if the plugin write organised that before leaving).
If the plugins are no longer updated, AND if the latest change made the engine incompatible (this doesn't automatically happen, a lot of plugins stay compatible through upates) - only then you need to stop updating your project as well.
And that is why the update instructions tell you to make a backup before updating: If the update breaks compatibility you'll still have the backup working on the old version.

So now you have to check if there is any plugin you're using where the plugin writer is inactive, and then check for which versions his plugins still work, and only after that you can decide if you want to stay at that version or replace the plugins that caused this to be able to update again.

Yanfly's plugins are compatible with 1.6.2

The problem is more updating to the recent versions as most of yanfly plugins are behind a paywall

There's no difference between 1.6.1 v 1.6.2, it's not even in the steam beta.

I'm reverting back to 1.5.2 myself. 1.6.1
Seems to be giving me an issue with Yanfly's Gridfree doodads. I know the plugin was updated but I'm getting so many more buggy graphical issues than I did in an earlier version. Since my project has all the plugins it requires already there's really no reason to update further for me.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
