Regeneration only during battles

Hello everyone. I need some help.

I would like the "Hp/MP/TP regeneration rate" to only work during turns of battles but not outside of battles.

I've just found out that regeneration applies after a certain number of steps, but I really don't want that.

How can I do that ? Is there a script or a method ?

I did try to find the solution on google and on this forum before asking, so I'm sorry if I've missed it.

It comes from an equipable item. Usually an accessory, like a ring that lets you recover 5% MP at the end of each turn.

I don't want that accessory to give my character 5% MP every 20 steps.

Then instead of actually using the item to gain regeneration use a state that you give an actor equipped with that item at the start of battle make it not healable or anything except for ending battle ^^

Pretty sure there is a way to script that but like this it's fairly easy ^^

I'm sorry but how do you make an accessory inflict a state at the start of a battle ? Could you explain, please ?

Oh make a troop event that on battle start checks if an actor has equipped said item and inflicts it if he has ^^ you will have to copy that battle event in all troops though ^^

No need to copy it to every troop if you use Yanfly's Base Troop Event script.  You put it in once on the first slot of the Troop tab in the data base and it will then run for every battle with every troop.

Guys, I'd like your opinion on another method I may have found.

I searched the basic scripts of the game and in game_actor, I found this : Number of Steps Regarded as One Turn in Battle. This returns "20 steps", which explains why the regeneration effect applies.

I was thinking of changing this to something a lot higher like 100. If you are in an area with battles, this number would never be reached between two battles and my effect would just apply during the end of battle turns, just as I want.

Is there any problem in changing that number ? I would imagine it will be a problem for poison but except for that, I don't see any problem (I actually don't care if poison doesn't do damage outside battle).

Any thoughts ?

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
