Description of the Feature:
Right now, regions have to be evented in a parallel process or something in order for it to do something automated or react to anything. But what if there's just a Region Layer and then if you Right Click -> Properties, you can set common events/properties/whatever to each layer you mapped on that area?

Code for Implementation:
Not sure yet.

Mockups:
In Rm2k/3, they have something similar called Areas.

When you click on New Area, you can set boundaries:

And you can have multiple areas in one map:

Now instead of just random encounters, what if you can add "Do Event Commands like this"

Why is this feature good?
This feature is great because of the following:
  • Flexible
  • Less Events.
  • Less Confusion
  • Less Parallel Process or something that slows down the game.

Possible issues with this feature?

Sometimes you have to have a feature, get it's use down pat and for people to work with it for a while before you can figure out how to make it more user friendly. I'm still too new to judge, but this seems like a way to make more customization take less overall work. I don't really see the downside to that.

I love this idea and I would love it more if we can give it battle encounters like suggested elsewhere on this forum. Throw in the ability to do conditional branches for specific regions and I think this really helps with game making. It would definitely need a walkthrough or tutorial in the editor for casuals, but once they understood it I think it would be fine.

I'm for this. I love regions and have used them frequently. I happily event things, but this definitely does get--intense, after awhile. Gotten some really funny bugs that way. XD

Would this mean I would be able to set Monster Zones to specific areas on the world map without a plugin?

If so, yes. Strong yes.

@RetroBoy Not to get off-topic, but currently you can already set troops (enemies) to certain regions within a specific map's Properties > Encounters. Each troop can only be set to 3 regions max, but it is possible~!
