I did that in my game and everything works. Thanks. (5 stars from me)

Congratulations! That's the very first tutorial I have read and used! =3 (Yes, really)

    Also, this is new?

I'm a Steam user and I didn't deleted the entire 'RTP=' line and everything works fine.

    So... I got confused? =P

    And this:

As ksjp said I'm not ticking this on and everything works as it should.

I'm glad it works for you but the removing just the stuff after RTP= on Steam version will make it overwrite the ini after each time because of Steam's cloud stuff. So make sure your whole RTP is still gone after using Steam copy and saving and reloading and all that.

I have disabled the Steam synchronization so I think that's why it worked for me.

Yep that'd do it. Though I'd not suggest doing that, that may cause problems with other games.

But the steam cloud is disabled only for RM Ace, so I think it shouldn't generate any problems right?

I heard some people complaining about losing progress, so that's why I disabled that too just in case.

I have never heard this issue happen but they sohuld keep physical copies just in case too, not just cloud. Losing progress sucks, I know that from experience as I lost like 100 hours worth of stuff I had done for one game I had been making because of a corrupt BIOS, making salvaging of all the files near impossible, since trying to boot to windows gave an error message. Thus making the game be released as far, far smallere than it was going to be after low level format and restoring from a far, far earlier point in time.

I just heard, that some people got forced-backups from cloud when changing the names of the folder and such or something like this... But that was happening if you were moving the folder or replacing it with a new folder with the same name... I have no idea, since it didn't happened to me as well.

Sorry to hear about that loss.

Thanks for the reply tuomo. I had already tried that and it didn´t work..So I was hoping to see how people who make games with rpg maker XP  go around this problem... :(

There shouldn't be a problem, are you using the Steam version or what version of the program? What sort of an error are you getting? I have a theory but I need more info.

Okay, go to your RPG Maker XP folder. You'll find RGSS104E.dll  file. Copy that and put it in your game folder. That should get it to working.

@mars2004 - The purpose of this method is to let you get rid of that extra MBs in case you dont need them
