Hello, I've asked a similar question before but I added too many unneeded details and used incorrect and confusing terminology.

I would like a way to disable the chant and standby motions that play after selecting attacks, that is all, thank you.

There should be no chant motion when you select Attack.

Chant motion is applied to Skill Types that you have listed in the System tab of your database under Magic Skills.

Attack should have Skill Type None.

If you don't want any skills to show chanting, don't put any Skill Types as Magic Skills.

Edit: I missed that you said and standby. So you want no visual indicator that an actor has selected their action for the turn?

Whoops, I used bad terminology again, sorry. I figured you could change it to be a non-magic skill to disable the chanting animation, but I would like the skills to still use the magic motion when performing the action, is it possible to both use the magic motion and disable the chanting motion?

I know it's possible through the yanfly action sequence packs, but I don't like filling every note box with an absurd amount of text.

Program your skills using Yanfly's Action Sequences. motion spell: user will make the user of the skill perform the magic motion.

I mean whatever jumbled terminology you're using, you could alwys just open your battler sheet in the image manipulation software of your choice and replace whatever motion you dislike with a motion you prefer in that situation.

(Or use action sequencing, like @ATT_Turan suggested.)

Right, I just needed a slot for walking motions to use in action sequences.

If I do that, then all the note tags are filled with a bunch of text, because that command by itself doesn't work.

...okay? You seem to have layers of specific requirements and extra things :stickytongue:

You're being given the answers to your questions. You can use one of them or you can not have your skills look the way you want. It's not like we're holding out on you to say "Oh, well in that case you could do this...!"

(and also, that's not really true. If you don't want different skills to do anything fancy, just put a full action sequence in one and then use the Action Copy notetag in the others)

I'm sorry, I was just seeing if there was a simple solution, it's not that hard to put in all the notetags, I was just seeing if there was a way around it. Thank you.

@Misk-ivus Take a look at what I posted in this thread; it might help solve your issue. I only briefly reviewed your posts, but it seems similar to the problem discussed there.

Edit: actually, the solution I posted there would only change the perform portion of the action. But, looking at MV's code, the chant pose should only be happening for "magic" skills (as defined under the "[SV] Magic Skills" setting in the System tab of the database)...

Edit 2: I should have read more thoroughly before replying. It appears you may not be asking for what you initially seemed to be asking. Hopefully what I posted is of some help, but if not, I apologize for jumping in without reading the full context.

Oh it's fine, I think I have everything settled.
