Like the tile says, I want to replace the basic Attack with a skill based on the weapon equipped (ie: axe has a stronger formula than a sword does). Is it as simple as setting each weapon to "Remove Attack"+" Learn *attack replacement skill*"?

You can modify the basic attack somewhat using traits- speed and number of hits, mostly. If you want to actually swap it for another skill, you need a plugin: there's one included with the default files called "WeaponSkill," or you can go for Yanfly's Weapon Unleash for some deeper options, like changing Guard as well, or having individual actors / status effects replace one command with another.

To give a bit of background on why this requires a plugin: Actors don't "learn" the Attack or Guard skills. The Attack and Guard commands on the menu are normally hard-coded to use Skill #1 and Skill #2, regardless of what those skills actually do.

@Zarsla @Doktor_Q Considering some of Yanfly's plugins, such Buff and State Core, don't work well with the SRPG battle system plugin (http://hikimoki.sakura.ne.jp/plugin/plugin_srpg.html) I am using, I'll try that tomorrow morning and if it doesn't work, I'll just use what I have right now, which is each character has both Attack and a "Advanced Attack" skill that has the right formula.

Basically this: http://yanfly.moe/2015/12/26/yep-51-weapon-unleash/

It's exactly what you're looking for.
So you can have different formulas for different weapons.
So your axe might have a higher damage formula but comes with lower accuracy.
Or maybe your daggers get bonus damage based on your speed.
Etc. etc. etc.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
