Hi there, as the title says, I'm trying to figure out how to make a temporary stat buff.

My plan is to have players go to a church within which a Priestess can bless the party, bestowing a temporary +15 HP buff (Tentatively set to expire after 1 battle), and heal the party. If the player has enough money, they can make a donation to gain a skill, but that is a different quandary for another time.

Can anyone lend a hand?

Best,

- Justin

There are many ways.

Some are better, some are worse.

What comes in my mind first is making a new state in the database, "Bleessed by the Priestess" that gives the buff.

Then you call the battle using an event right?

After the battle just remove the buff from your party, using the appropriate event command.

Make sure if it is possible to switch members that all members lose the buff.

There.

It's done! :p

P.S. Check my spoiler.

The problem is that the buff is given outside of battle, so how would I go about applying it for the next battle? Additionally, as far as I can tell, I can only increase MHP by a percentage, when I want only a +15 hit point bonus.

Troop events on Turn 0 are executed before first battle turn. Make one state for marking the actors, then check the existance of the state in every troop at turn 0, if yes replace it with the battle-state that vanishes after battle.

The default features work only with percentages - if you do not like this, you'll need a script to get features for fixed numbers.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
