Greetings everyone.
I am looking into adding new states with new animations to my project. As of yet, I've found two plugins that mostly fit the bill for what I'm looking for, but for either of these plugins I would require a new feature to make it 100% fit my need. I'm hoping someone can help me out with that. Below I have linked two plugins. The first plugin is by @Hakuryo the second by @Yanfly . If someone reading this were to see this thread and decide to help me out, I'd prefer if someone made the extension to the yanfly plugin, but I linked the first one because it is also capable of providing for my request (though with less features) and might be a lot easier to make the change to.
More State Overlays
So what do I need?
Thanks for reading this far. Here's what I'm looking for. I would like for one or both of these plugins to be modified that that with a notetag on the state, I can force the new state animation to be drawn below the afflicted battler on screen. While I am slightly capable myself of making plugins that make slight alterations to things, I haven't worked with sprites or graphics at all. As far as I know, the sprite priority on screen is mostly determined by the order in which the images are drawn on screen, and I don't know personally how to modify that.
Still not quite getting what I want? Let me try to explain it better, with an example.
I want to make a state that has a custom state overlay on it that gives the afflicted actor angel wings when using it. Because of other systems in the game, the actor using it could have one of 26 sets of battler sprites, so adding wings to a battler sprite isn't feasible. What I'm looking to do is take the generator part for the wings, and use it as a state overlay, but with the default way this works, this looks silly.
The below image illustrates my point. The default state overlay shows up on top of the battler, as in the top portion of the image. The bottom portion shows what it would look like if it were drawn behind the battlers, which is admittedly, still not perfect, but that is how they would appear if the wings were put on them in the generator.
So what I'm looking for, is a notetag that will force the state overlay animation for a specific state to show up behind the battlers. For either of the two above plugins, although the second one would be much more useful.
Thanks in advance.

More State Overlays
- This plugin allows for straight up adding more lines to the states.png file, and using them as new animations for it.
- It doesn't offer much more, other than that.
- I suspect my modification request to this plugin would be fairly simple to implement, due to the small scope of this plugin
- This plugin only allows for extra state animations to be in a battle animation format, allowing for much more beautiful implementation, but is probably a lot more difficult to modify.
- The ability to change the battle motion of the afflicted target is also quite useful, though not for this particular need
