Before I start I just want to make it clear that at this stage I'm not planning a full game or even a Demo, I've just bought VX Ace (Tinkered with VX and XP) and I'm just playing around with it for now. I've been looking for a sideview Battle system that has the following skills

Stomp: Jump and stomp on the enemy. That would come in handy if the enemy was an ork, rock monster, etc

Slid Forward: I had this idea where the enemy is a spiked wall and the player has to attack the wall to escape.

And it would require useing existing sprites, meaning I wouldn't need to make any and just use the ones that came with the program.

Some of you are probably thinking why don't I make my own? Not quite that easy. When I look at a script all I see is a bunch of Gibberish that I can't make any sense out of. It's worst when the only script I've found that comes close to my needs is written in Japanese. I've tried tutorials but you can't ask a Video a question when you don't understand something. In otherwords I'm one of those guys who would need a teacher to be in the room and going through it step by step. God, I hope this doesn't come off as whiny. 

So if anyone knows where I can find a Script that would work for my needs I'd really appreciate it. Oh, one more thing. Can anyone tell me what this is means:

Script 'Sideview line 1519: NoMethodError occured

undefined Method 'frame_max' for nil:NilClass

I have no clue what it means.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
