Required Movie Formats

I'm hoping someone can help me out on this one. I've learned a lot from tutorials on YouTube, but they the user I was watching didn't have anything on Movies. A quick search here shows that I need at least two formats, the main and something called a codec, as well has having the file under the screen size. Nether should be a problem as I am creating the movie in Adobe Animate, and can export in any format or size. However I don't know what the default size of RPG Maker is. Every time I open it it fits to my window, and as for the codec, Im not sure what file that is Ive never needed to know before... Anyhow, please help me out if you can!

816 x 624 is the default. MV uses 48 pixel tiles, and the default resolution is 17 x 13 tiles. Now, if you've changed it via a plug-in you'll need to figure out the new resolution, but it should be under your plug-in settings what resolution you have it at.

Thanks its helpful to know the exact size. My movie was made at a resolution of 800 x 600 since I was working off a screen shot and I like even pixels. But this means that its under the dimensions limit. So is the codec the reason its not showing up when I open the play movie option in the event manger? What format is the codec? what extension? like I have the movie as an .mp4, or I could also save it as a .mov or .avi if necessary. But IDK for the codec I learned about the sound how you need a .ogg file too, that was hard to get but I got it...

That I don't know, as I've never used movies in my game. Instead, I just put them in as cutscenes directly. Hopefully someone else knows the codex information and such.

In the meantime, can you post a screenshot of the event you have to call the movie? That way someone who does know will be better able to find the issue for you.

Okay, but the issue seems to be more with the file format from what I understand...
So here's the folder with the movie in it, (although right now it is just a demo,) I have several versions, and if you look at the bottom you can see the file path.

And heres the window completely ignoring those movie files.

The file formats that are playable depend on the operating environment, so please prepare the below 2 file formats with the same file name.

• WebM(.webm)
• MP4 (.mp4 encoded with H.264 codec)

* When creating a game that will be played on Windows or Mac, please prepare only the WebM file format. When creating a game that will be released on the web or made for Android/iOS, both file formats are required.

So do you want to guess why you see nothing there?

Thank you for telling me the other format I needed. I mean you had no way of knowing that my computer crashed every time it tired to load the premade RPG Maker Tutorials or help menu. ... Sorry that was uncalled for...

Indeed. I had no idea that you cannot run something as basic as a web browser on your computer. The help is in html format. You do not even go through MV to open it.

You really should get your computer serviced if you experience such problems.

Can you please just be nice? I didn't know the format I need. I came here. Isn't that what these forums are for? I have enough drama in my life I don't need to get it from random people online who I've never met. My response was rude but not untrue, the tutorials don't run on my computer, the help does- I wasn't aware that complex word maze was what you were talking about. Its a pain to navigate and although I gave it a once over I learned way more from video tutorials by hearing someone say the intrusions aloud.

Perhaps its more my personal take on it, but the duo sliding windows multiple drop down tabs, and graphics with no notes just clips... All of it is just over stimulating. Too much to take in. I work better in a one on one. Watching a tutorial someone was kind enough to make, or asking questions in areas permitted.
