Hello. Once again, I need assistance.

Is it possible to make a script (that if it doesn't exist already) that when you pick up a note and select it in the menu screen, it shows up like in Resident Evil?

You know, like this:

If it already exists, please show me. I've been looking for one of these since I began working on my game.

It can be more simple to do if you can create your own images that consist of two things. Background image (for the letter/note image), and the image text (Yes, the text is an image. Image text with transparent background). If you can do that, doing it will be easier as I can just write a code that shows the images and slide through it.

So, can you do that?

You don't need a script. Just attach each of these items to their own common event, and make the common event show the background and the text image, as explained above. You can do a Show Text command with no text, a transparent background, and placed at the bottom, which will give a little arrow and pause until the player hits a key, then erase the images.

I've actually thought about using images. I just thought it would have something to ease up on the game size in the end (as for images weigh up the game total size).
But, if there's nothing, then I'll have to leave at that and use images.

The examples you gave all look like they use images. Except the last one, which uses an image for the background (you could have two or three images, depending on what the note actually is - one a book, one a single sheet of paper, etc), and a regular Show Text type box for the actual text. That approach could reduce your game size significantly compared to the first one, where the background AND the text are both images.

I'll keep that in mind, Shaz.
Thank you once again.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
