Ms. Littlefish went out a limb and submitted a huge amount of audio tracks ranging from Background Sounds to Sound Effects. So many in fact, that I can't upload it in soundcloud! They're super cool, useful and you should totally check her stuff!

DesperateMeasurez submits two new tracks! One being Sci-Fi inspired, Beatdown City and The Old Country Farm.

Candacis returns with a huge set of MV-styled tilesets! This includes roofs, tall sprites and many more!

Thalzon and Slimmeiske collaborated to give you some fancy waiters and waitresses! Aren't they so fancy?

Palladinthug (currently Bananathug) Submits Iggy and a bunch of bears in Pop! Style. Perfect if you want non-humans in your game.

Avery returns with an MV Tileset that is perfect for Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley type games. Complete with Casino icons and a seahorse!

Chalkdust comes with some creeeeppy zombies of the entire Actor 1 set!

Chaos Avian comes with some adorable monsters~

Emberstorm, our newest ReStaff member, finishes this release with some really cool weapon icons! You should totally check 'em out.

Those are some sweet looking icons battlers, sprites and tiles. The sound effects were great and so track is the music (currently headbanging to beatdown city)

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this cool resource pack!

@Ms. Littlefish I really like all of these sound effects, as they're something completely different than the usual combat noises. I especially like the clock music effects. They might be really useful if your game includes a system that allows you to rest until a certain hour.

@DesperateMeasurez I really like both of these tracks. I think that "The Old Country Farm" might be my favorite. Super relaxing. It slightly reminds me of FF7's chocobo farm music, in the best way possible.

@Candacis Your tileset expansion is a beautiful addition to the RTP.

@Thalzon @Slimmeiske Such a great collab!

@Palladinthug Looking pixel-perfect.

@Avery Your icons are always beautiful!

@Chalkdust Creepy! Perfect for games that include zombie states.

@Chaos Avian I like your art style. I got a kick out of the consistently goofy eyes.

@Emberstorm We can never have enough icons, and yours are a great-looking addition.

Thanks, but the water pump is in the sf outside tileset from the original. I just added a bucket to it, to use it for a fantasy setting.

Great stuff as always, guys!  :rhappy:

Graphics

@Avery  Great looking crops, I'm sure people are going to be happy to have growing crops in their games.  While I don't have a place for it in my game yet, I love the adorable seahorse!  I may need to add an aquarium just to be able to have that cutie swimming around.

@Candacis  Wowzers, that's a lot of excellent roofs!  Those and your country tiles are going to mean a lot more awesome looking towns and villages.  I love the little trowel and watering can, now I want to have a whole bunch of NPCs who love gardening.  Your included roof guide is also super helpful, especially since it can be a little intimidating looking at all those roof pieces.

@chalkdust  Very creepy zombies!  The blood splatters are a nice touch.  It'd be pretty cool to see even more decayed versions with rusty and broken armor, if you're feeling up to it.

@Chaos Avian  The battlers' faces are hilarious, I love them.  Leggy looks ready to kick some hero butt!

@Emberstorm  That's quite the variety of weapons, good job!  Personally I'm not a fan of the black outlines, but it's great that it's clear what each weapon is.  The shadow version is also a nice touch, it really gives them some weight.

@BananaThug  Those are some beefy bears!  I love their muzzles, and want to dress them up in some nice suits.  Iggy's looking nice, hopefully some trouble-making kids don't give her a hard time.  Your terms notice is scary, but I kinda wanna ask just to see it happen...

@slimmmeiske2  Great looking waiters, I really like their aprons!  They really will fit into a cafe or bar, but I'd love to see a version with these guys and gals carrying platters of food for hungry customers.

@Thalzon So are these the waiters who can't take dealing with rude customers anymore?  They look ready to rumble, all while looking good and still getting drinks to the right tables!

Music

@DesperateMeasurez  "Beatdown City" is fun to listen too, but "The Old Country Farm" is my favorite.  I just love the calmness it invokes.

@Ms Littlefish  Ooh, you're spoiling us with so many great sounds!  These are perfect for bringing a modern setting game to life, now office buildings can be full of the sounds of employees working at their computers (though they're probably just surfing the web :p) and the different clock chimes are super useful for games where time passes.

Sorry, this is something I forgot in the pdf. Since most of it are roof tiles and you don't walk on roofs normally, most of them are set to X. You can set the top part of the roof and tower to Star. Here is how I set it up:

@Avery The seahorse and chickens are absolutely adorable. I luuuuuurve them! I think the crops will be extremely useful, not only for farm games but for people who also just like the attention to detail.

@Candacis You really went all out this release. Round of applause for her, everyone! This is a fantastic set and I find anything that diversifies the buildings in RM highly, highly valuable.

@chalkdust Once again another welcome to the team! You know, Halloween will be here before we even know it. So good on you because everyone's already got zombie RTP checked off their list for all their preparations. Can't wait to see what else is in store.

@Chaos Avian Cute, cute, cute. Cute. Cuuuuuuute! I want all of them made into plush toys! I have a theory that if you stick googly eyes onto anything it's instant adorable. I've always been a huge fan of your battlers. Keep it up.

@DesperateMeasurez "Beatdown City" has a really fun retro feeling to it. Almost a little Donkey Kong Country thrown in that bass line. Is that just me? I definitely got some Fear Factory out of the bass line. Very engaging and driving piece. "The Old Country" is very cute and warm sounding. I love the little tin whistle poking out ever so lightly through the tops of the piece.

@Emberstorm Very good set of weapons here. I think this gives everyone a wonderful starting point and now the sky is the limit. I actually do like black outlines, mostly because my eyesight is absolutely terrible. The shadowed version also gives them an extra dose of that pop. Also, I think you're another new face around Restaff. A giant welcome for you.

@BananaThug The best part about the bears being done in Pop! style is if you still want to make a horror game; getting chased by a bear would be no joke!

@slimmmeiske2 These guys and gals are super adorable in their little suits! I have to second Hiddenone's suggestion for platters of food but these guys are definitely ready to take your order.

@Thalzon I'm sure these servers have finally just had it with that snappy customer who has sent her salmon back to the kitchen for the third time because it was "too cold," but wait! Now it's too hot! She never mentioned not liking onions and never said anything until she'd eaten half of it.

So, here is my feedback. I hope, some more people write something. Feedback not only helps us contributors to get better, it also motivates us for the next ReStaff. If you want more ReStaff resources, please consider writing a feedback.

@Avery I like the icons, especially the bottles are very useful. I think, the crops in different growing stages are a great idea. Nice that you have watered soil, too. If you want to improve them, I would put down a shadow on the soil+seed combination and make the harvested carrots/salat holes a little bit more visible.

@chalkdust The eyes on those zombie sprites are truly awsome! I would have maybe made the zombies even bloodier or get some half eaten faces or body parts in there, but they look great nontheless.

@Chaos Avian Nice battlers, especially the mothom and the slime. I think, I would have a hard time finding where I would use some of the more crazy ones, but I love the artstyle.

@DesperateMeasurez Two awsome tracks. I am normally not a fan of such sci-fi/techno tracks, but Beatdown City sounds like a great opening or credits sound. Old Country Farm reminded me of Stardew Valley, which isn't a bad thing :) I only find the flute part in the Old Country part a bit too loud. Don't know how to say it better.

@Emberstorm Nice weapon icons. Weapons are such an important part of a lot of rpgs, it is nice to have a variety of them. The wands look a bit small, but I think the size is realistic in comparision to the other weapons.

@MsLittlefish So many sounds! That was a great idea. I think, those will proove very useful for a ton of games. I prefer the natural version, the amplified one sounds a bit too shrill in my headphone, maybe it is just me. Hope, you do more sounds. Maybe weapon sounds?

@PalladinThug I like the bear sprites. Although they look more humanlike to me, but useful for anthromorph bears or a human in a bear costume. Now MsLittlefish idea of a horror game with someone chasing you in a bear costume sounds even scarier :D

@slimmeiske2 Cute waiters done with a lot of care since everyone of them looks a bit different I like number 7. Maybe you can do some behaviour animations for them like them carrying a plate.

@Thalzon It is always nice to see corresponding battlers to sprites. I especially like the first waiter since he looks pretty badass to me :D And the second one looks slightly shocked with those big eyes.

Feedback to others:

@Avery, love the crops, can't wait to see them in action. I appreciate that you included the different crop/soil combinations to make eventing easier.

@Candacis, wow! Those roofs! I'll never be able to make a town again without this! (There's something not quite right with the chairs, though... Perhaps taking the middle vertical bar out would fix it?)

@Chaos Avian, interesting style. I'm just starting to explore the non-RTP styles and I'd like to see a game with your work.

@Emberstorm, nice work! Were these made with PVG packs in mind? They seem to fit that style very well.

@PalladinThug, love the style! I love anything that add additional racial groups to a game and bearfolk are an awesome addition!

@slimmmeiske2, perfect addition for a modern setting!

@Thalzon, those work perfectly with the waiter characters. Great job!

(Sorry, I'm musically "limited" so don't have any valuable feedback in that arena.)

Responses to my feedback:

@hiddenone, yes, I think more decayed states is a great idea. These look more "recently turned". I'll work on coming up with a later progression.

@Ms Littlefish, thank you, I'm happy to be onboard! Since I'm working with the themes now, I'll save my next zombie release for Halloween.

@Candacis, I can't take full credit! I use a template that is a simple franken of SF_Monster 0, so the TV character eyes come from that. (I did the SV ones though)

Most of the ReStaff resources seem geared for MV, which is understandable and makes perfect sense. But I'm still using Ace, so there are less and less resources in each successive ReStaff package that I can use. I'm sure eventually I'll move to MV (after my current project is done and the standalone Mac version is finally made available), and then I'll be able to use the new resources, so I'm saving them off for future. Not having looked at MV yet, I don't really know what is there and what is missing, so I don't have a lot of useful feedback on the MV resources at this time.

However, I do have some feedback:

@Avery Love the new icons! And thanks for including a few new ones for Ace. Those bottles will come in handy (I can never seem to have enough bottles of different sizes and shapes - haha!) I like the seahorse sprite for MV too. The farm mounds look a little strange to me, but that's probably because I'm more familiar with Ace's graphics and not familiar with MV's graphics. You're a good artist, so I'm sure they blend in nicely.

@Candacis Fantastic tile work, as always! I like the country graphics (especially the clotheslines), and roofs are fabulous! Thank you for including the star passability example. I saved that off with your resources on my hard disk. Sorry I don't have any constructive feedback for you, but I've never seen anything in your tiles that I wish you had done differently. You're just too talented!

@chalkdust That is an insane amount of sprites you cranked out! The more the better, I always say - extra variety is a very good thing.

@Chaos Avian Love the cartoony battlers! I think the Beetah and Mothtom are my favorites.

@DesperateMeasurezFantastic music, as usual! These tunes don't fit my current game project, but I like Beatdown City. I think that will work well for a post-apocalyptic game I have in mind. Maybe someday I'll get to work on it, if I ever finish my current game! Hehe!

@Emberstorm Nice icons! There is a good amount of variety there.

@Ms Littlefish Sound effects this time! Nice! I especially appreciate the background sounds. And I could have used those clock sounds for a different indie project 8 years ago. I remember I had a terrible time finding decent clock sounds. Well done!

@PalladinThug More Pop Style! Nice! I want to do a game in that style someday, so I'm very happy to see those!

@slimmmeiske2 Nice waiter sprites! And good variety too. As a suggestion, I'd love to see some carrying trays, wine bottles, and menus.

@Thalzon Waiter battlers?! What the heck!? What a fun and unusual idea! You made my brain think about what kinds of attacks they would have: throw hot soup, clout you with a tray or bottle, spit in your food, charge extra on your bill (i.e., steal your gold)... hm, gonna lose sleep tonight thinking about this. Thanks a lot!  J/k - well done! I love it when something jump starts my imagination like that!

Hey everyone,

Sorry it took me so long to get this response out there!

@Nirwanda Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@Matseb2611 Thanks, man! Who doesn't love a good brawl now and again? "I'll be back!"

@Kenen Thanks so much! I'm glad you could notice that actually. I took two tracks from FF7 and used them as a sort of template from which to work regarding the overall feel and structure. One was the Chocobo Farm piece and the second was Yuffie's theme.

@hiddenone Thank you! I'm really glad it was calming for you! I had a lot of fun with that one!

@Ms Littlefish Thank you! Actually I didn't notice it at first, but now that you've mentioned it, that bass line really does remind me of Donkey Kong. I went back and listened again after reading what you wrote and it hit me instantaneously! Nice pick, haha! Of course, now I can't stop thinking about his mighty Kongness when listening to it now...

Nice work on all the sound effects! They were very clean recordings. I especially liked the backgrounds with the bird noises. I always find that kind of thing relaxing.

@Candacis Many thanks! I haven't tried "Stardew Valley" yet (though my mom and sisters love it!), but I'll definitely take that as a compliment! Regarding the flute, I think I may know what you mean. It kind of just springs out there when it comes in. It may have been better had I given it a sort of slow fade in. I may tinker with that a bit before posting it on my free resource thread! Thank you!

I do apologize for being a bit challenged when it comes to visual art, but I thought all the different roof sets looked amazing! My favorite color schemes were the blue/green set 3+4 and the dark grey/black of set 7+8 recolor 1. That really reminded me of a neat slate roof on a church or something.

@GolfHacker Thank you! Haha, that sounds like something with which I'm very familiar. Having several project ideas stored away that beg you to work on them. It takes more discipline than most people realize to stick to one until it's finished!

I apologize if I forgot anyone! Thanks so much again for all the feedback and criticism! Best wishes, all!
