Hi!

I got an issue which I am not able to solve without the help of you guys!

My project is almost ready to enter it's BETA state but now I stumble upon an issue that is creating MAJOR fps drops!

After re-constructing the way how processes are handled I managed to get the game +30 FPS again and it runs smoothly.

However, after restarting it drops BACK to 20 or below!

I found out that my RGSS301.dll file, which is normally around 800kb increased in size to 2.45 MB AFTER testing

the game... I tried to put it on read-only but it still manage to *update* itself and everytime it goes back to the bigger

file size, my FPS drop returns...

Anyone got any clue how I can prevent this from happening?

Each time you save changes from RPG Maker Ace editor, if the RGSS dll from the System folder is different than the one from the RTP installation folder, it will be replaced by the one found in such path.

Did you replace the original one found in the RTP installation path with the "high-res" one?

First, thank you for responding :)

Second: now you mention it! I tried that in a different project (same project, different build) BUT as this is a direct copy of that same folder I am afraid that it MIGHT cause this bug... Is there any way to get back to the original one?

You're welcome :)

Yes, replace the dll found in the RTP installation path with the one you want the game to use (the one that keeps getting replaced) or just reinstall the RTP.

I tried replacing it in the original folder C:\Users\Creactive Labs\Documents\RPGVXAce\Fist full of Frick you!\System
please don't mind the work in progress name ;p, its just a working title LOL.

But this one keeps replacing itself into the bigger on causing the lag... Is there any other location where I should replace the DLL?

Edit: Just replaced the one in the steam folder too... It seems things are running at a smooth 30 FPS again...

Still going to keep this one open for now... As I thought that I fixed it yesterday already but it came back today ;)

It might be different for the Steam version, but here the installation path of the RTP looks like: C:\Program Files\Enterbrain\RPGVXAce\

If you can save changes from the editor without it getting replaced again for the one that is like 3 MB in size, then you're probably good :)

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
