Right Click Copying Broken - RPG Maker VX Vice

Hey guys, hoping you can lend me a hand because I'm literally at my wits end here. Just spend the last hour trying to copy a piece of dungeon by right clicking and copying however its not letting me highlight anything. I'm using the pen tool in map mode so as far as I am aware there shouldn't be a problem.

I'm running RPG Maker VX Ace through Steam on my Macbook via Bootcamp if that helps at all. I used to be able to do this no problem but I went away from the program for a bit and came back to find it not working at all. It could easily be me making a simple mistake so if anyone can push me in the right direction that would be excellent!

If you're using mac and an emulator? vm? Then that might be the cause. It wouldn't be something we'd be able to fix

Yeah copying on the mac doesn't work. I use mac and emulator too and I have the same problem.

I'm not using an emulator no. I'm using bootcamp so it is literally just Windows 7 being run on a Mac Book over OS X running Windows which is running VX (Which is how programs like Wineskin work). If that makes sense X D Like I said I used to be able to do it no problem. I'm not sure if a patch has been released recently that has mucked things up for me or what = /

I heard that the way Mac does mouse clicking is different, so maybe that's part of the reason?

Although correct that shouldn't be an issue. I can right click fine and dandy when I'm making events for instance. Its just when it comes to copying parts of terrain in the map it becomes an issue. I will try a USB mouse over my track pad though just in case.

I'm using VX Ace through bootcamp with Windows 8 and have the same problem, I can copy and paste one tile at a time but it won't let me drag while right clicking to select more. I don't have a USB mouse to hook up, either. It's really making mapping impossible.

Since the only people having this issue are on a Mac, that is the problem.  It's a compatiblilty problem.  It's too bad that Ace doesn't work on Mac but it has a Windows requirement for a reason.

@Sharm: Bootcamp does install full windows, it even requires a true windows licence to be installed. It only works since Apple switched to Intel and has basically similiar hardware.


@Mac-Users: Most probably this is due to the drivers supplied by bootcamp for Windows. Can you check with apple if there are updates available or similiar problems reported?


And which versions of Windows does your bootcamp support? On newer Macs, Bootcamp requires Win8 as minimum, and it could be that those drivers don't work with compatibility modes to earlier Windows. That is also something you should ask apple support.

Actually it's not only on a Mac. My Surface Pro running Windows 8 (or 8.1?) has the same issue. Can't use right-click in mapping.

I'm running updated Windows 7 and all my drives are up to date as far as I am aware. I've been trying different mouse's to see if that makes any difference. And it does! My USB mouse worked fine and I could finally copy and paste again. I'm assuming that this must be an issue with touch pads and graphic tablets over being Mac related ^__^
