My name on here is Randommerade, but you can call me Sam if you desire.
This is going to be a smallish project, alongside others, to "warm up" for my big one.
The main inspirations are The Sims series, Harvest Moon, Skyrim, Celestial Dance: Shift the Tide, and other sandbox games.
Unfortunately, I can't do everything by myself. While this is only a small project, it will mostly have resources included with RPGMaker XP (the engine I'm using), and resources found from other websites. However, some custom things (main characters to go along with the generated portraits) would be nice.
Here's the main synposis:
What I need now:
Writers - To write the friendship and romance paths of the villagers/marriage candidates, several events and such. I'm excellent at writing, but I can't do it all by myself.
Eventers - Only if you own RPGMaker XP. Pretty self explanatory
Mapping - Again, only if you own RPGMaker XP. Also pretty self explanatory.
Scripters - Some things will probably need to be scripted. Some of my ideas were - a memory system (when certain events happens, the player will gain a memory that they can view, think Sims 2 and 3), and a time system (if it cannot be done with eventing). If you have any other ideas, please contact me.
What will be needed later (but can be accepted now):
Voice actors - Probably won't be needed until the game is near completion. Voice acting will only occur during cutscenes and special scenes, other than that there will be small things such as giggles, sighs, greetings etc.
Art - I will mostly be needing pixel art. My original plan was to use portrait generators for the characters, but if you're an artist and want to see custom character portraits in the game, be my guest. Some things won't be needed until later though.
All people who contribute to the game will be fully credited. In addition, I can help you with your game in the following ways:
Testing
Correcting grammar/spelling mistakes (English is my native language)
Voice acting
Writing

Game Rating
This game will be for teens and a mature audience. While the shell of the game may seem cute and innocent like its inspiration (Harvest Moon), the underlying mood of it is rather depressing. There are also many adult themes in it (for example, as a job you will be able to be an assassin. There will be gambling in this game, as well as drinking, and use of fictional drugs). HOWEVER I plan to design the game so that you can choose to play it WITHOUT having to experience the more depressing/adult/dark/gross side of it (for people who are uncomfortable with that kind of stuff). You will never be forced into doing anything, it will all be optional and you can choose NO before it happens. I will even write a guide for how to play it "innocently." Just a small touch for the people who don't like playing games with darker themes.

Here's the main synposis:
You, the player (male or female - you choose), have been banished from your homeland for a crime you never committed in the first place. With nowhere else to go, you discover a new town (named Solaris), where someone is selling a large plot of land for cheap. You decide to buy it, and make a home here. The game will run over the course of several chapters:
Chapter One: The beginning where the player must build their house and find someone to marry (same sex romantic relationships and marriages will be implemented, but will only be known if the player tries for them). If they don't meet those requirements, the game ends. (There will be a warning at the beginning of the game that this will happen)
Chapter Two: The player will have been married for a couple of years now, and have a child. The child will somewhat take on the appearance of the marriage candidate that was picked in Chapter One.
Chapter Three: The player will be old now. The child will now be grown to the age that the player was in Chapter One. The game ends at the end of this chapter, with the player's death (of natural causes). Depending on how the child was influenced by the player in this chapter and Ch. 2 will decide where their life goes (in a cutscene at the end of the game).
There will also be many more things to do. Aside from that, the game will be in a slight fantasy, Harvest Moon-esque setting (nothing modern, but there are no hints to the time period/setting of the game, so it could technically be in any time period). There will be no battles, no "boss" to beat. This is simply the player living out their life.
Each chapter will be a year in the game which consists of 30-40 days in-game.
You may also pick a personality in the beginning of the game that greatly changes dialogue and how you interact with characters and the world around you. So far there are only a few.
- Kindhearted
- Jerk
- Flirty
- Whack job
- Genius
** We still need a few more personalities while the game is in early production. Let me know what personalities you want to see! **

EXTRAS
Marriage Candidates
Female:
Cereza Dreamer
Age: 22
Personality: Seductive, daydreams a lot, is a little quick-tempered
Personality: Flirty
Liked Personalities: Kindhearted, Flirty
Disliked Personality: Jerk
Occupation: Entertainer at bar
Bio: Cereza came as a traveler to Solaris just over three years before the protagonist's arrival. On her second day visiting, she went to the bar to get a drink. Things went a little out of hand and in her drunken state, she ended up knocking over and smashing a valuable vase that belonged to the owner of the bar. She now works there as a singer and piano player, working off her debt, which is next to impossible because the owner of the bar is a jerk and also charges her for necessities such as a place to sleep at night. Because of this situation, she feels trapped, and longs for a way out.
Marriage Requirements: Maxed relationship, pay off her debt
Why marry her: I won't lie. Cereza is a favorited character, and the first one I came up with. As a result, her storyline will be very fleshed out and intriguing. She is also one of the hardest characters to romance (you must be careful with what you say as well as pay off her pricey debt), if the player likes a challenge.
Trivia:
- She is inspired by Nova from Fallout 3, and Bayonetta/Cereza (from Bayonetta)
- Her appearance is modeled after a cherry (she has red hair, wears mostly red clothes, and her green eyes are the color of a cherry's stem)
- Her first name literally translates to "cherry" in Spanish.
- Her last name is taken from the Sims 2 family. It is also apart of her personality.
Naida Titan
Age: 19
Personality (in deeper context):: Bubbly, fun, sweet, outgoing
Personality: Kindhearted
Liked Personality: Kindhearted
Disliked Personalities: Jerk, Flirty
Occupation: Housekeeper/maid at inn
Bio: Naida grew up in a little house by the beach. Her family never had much, but she was still happy and felt fortunate to have what she did. Her family consisted of her mom, dad, and younger sister and brother. Her parents never had a happy marriage, however, and divorced after some time. After that, Naida refused to believe in true love, until she met someone when she was still a teenager. It didn't work out very well however, and after they separated Naida fell into a deep depression. To escape her hometown, she moved to Solaris once she was of age and landed a job at the inn. She has been there for a year now.
Marriage Requirements: Max out relationship
Why marry her: Naida is meant to be the optimism in darkness. While most of the other characters' stories are rather depressing, Naida's is one that will leave you feeling good.
Trivia:
- Naida's appearance is loosely inspired by Sailor Neptune from Sailor Moon.
- Her last name is based off of the ancient Greek monsters who were cruel and ruthless. This is meant to contrast her personality
Lillian (left) and Orchid (right) Bell
Age: 21
Personality (in deeper context): Lillian is cold-hearted and unforgiving, yet very intelligent, controlling and manipulative. She has never been close to anyone, except for her sister at one point. She is uptight about most things, and refuses to use profanity in her language, always speaking in a professional manner. Her business means the world to her, as well as her success. Orchid, however, is her opposite. Charming, promiscuous (at least until marriage), somewhat ditzy, and also manipulative (but in a much different way), her party animal spirit makes her care less about the success of her business, and more about what she wants.
Personality: Whackjob
Liked Personalities: Whackjob, Jerk, Flirty
Disliked Personality: Kindhearted
Occupation: Owners of the town's one and only casino.
Bio: Not much is known about the sisters. They keep quiet about their past, which at first made them outcasts in Solaris. But after a few years of living there and sprouting a successful business everyone grew to accept them. They often bicker, and everyone knows they are against each other. The two used to get along when they were children, but as they grew older, their personalities drastically changed, their goals became more clear to them and they drifted apart.
Marriage Requirements: Max out relationship w/ sister of choice. Correct dialogue with sister of choice. Taking Lillian's side and sabotaging Orchid (if you want to marry Lillian). Taking Orchid's side and sabotaging Lillian (if you want to marry Orchid).
Why marry them: Their plot is probably the most interesting in the game, and it ends with a shock (I can't reveal much without spoiling it). In the end, you can only chose 1 to stay; the other will leave (or you can "save" both of them but you will not be able to marry either if you do this).
Trivia:
- I put them together rather as 2 separate love interests because you can only have one or the other. (Plus, it's easier haha.)
- They have a huuuge twist to them that would spoil everything if I revealed it ;P
- They are tribute characters to my favorite video game character of all time. (However, if I were to reveal who they were a tribute to, this would ruin their entire story for you guys)
- Lillian's name comes from the lily flower, which symbolizes innocence and purity, while Orchid's comes from, obviously, the orchid flower, which symbolizes beauty and luxury. Their names speak for their personalities (Lillian is innocent and pure in the way that she refuses to take part in anything regarding vulgarity or sexuality, while Orchid has the charm that Lillian doesn't, prefers the free lifestyle and is rather promiscuous). Their last name, Bell, symbolizes new beginnings.
- If the protagonist was given the Whack Job personality at the beginning of the game, she will call the twins by a unique nickname and have interesting dialogue with them that foreshadows their fates.
Male:
Aiden Alekos (face/sprite temporary)
Age: 18
Personality (in deeper context): Collected, funny, passionate, very intelligent
Personality: Genius
Liked Personalities: All (as long as they have good money, he doesn't care)
Disliked Personalities: None
Occupation: Traveler
Bio: Aiden was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and intends to keep it that way. He is very materialistic, but knows his dearly departed parents' wealth won't last forever. Though very intelligent, full of passion about his hobbies, and even rather humorous, he hasn't worked a day in his life and doesn't ever plan to. And thus, Aiden traveled to many places (Solaris at the beginning of the story) in hopes of meeting and marrying into a rich family.
Marriage Requirements: Maxed relationship, money (lots of it), having spent a decent amount of money upgrading the furniture/items in your home (he refuses to live in a middle class or lower home).
Why marry them: Okay, I know Aiden seems EXTREMELY shallow. But after marriage, he does become a good husband and father. And once you think about it, he's actually really easy to marry for these benefits, if you're the type who likes to rack up an enormous mass of money in games. Now I know what you're thinking: I should marry someone who actually loves me! Well, Aiden DOES love you once you woo him, believe it or not, and shows this in different ways. He just refuses to begin to show interest in anyone that doesn't have money. (yes it's shallow at first, but he couldn't marry someone he didn't love, even if they were the wealthiest person alive.)
Trivia:
- Though he is the only spouse who refuses to get a job and leave the money making to you, giving you no other source of income but yourself, he trades this off for other things: being more involved in your child's life (making it much easier to get your wanted ending), giving you valuable gifts once in a while, unlocking things exclusive to him, etc. This makes him a valuable resource for those players who like to get the "perfect" ending easily.
- His face and sprite are temporary, as I couldn't find anything that envisioned him the way I wanted to yet.
- The more money you have, the easier it will be to advance in relationship with him.
**More to come, will list them soon**
