Can you give me the link to where you downloaded it? The game.exe should be INSIDE the game folder

The OP should have given you either a complete custom installer, or the self extracting file that has an icy cube icon

Then it's settled, he gave you only the link to the GAME.exe which is just the generic player used to run the RGSS3 games...

@OP: You need to upload the generated self-extracting file that is made when the game is compressed and not the dragon-iconed game.exe file...

How big is the size of your project?

and are you sure you are saving it to a place where you can save?

and how many times have you tried it?

if it really won't go through, then yeah just put up the link to the RTP dl page
It's 137 Kbs. I save it to the RPG Maker folder in My Documents. I tried 2x.

Does the compression work without the RTP?

Maybe the RTP itself is damaged?

Maybe the project itself somehow got damaged in the process.

adiktuzmiko always a minute ahead of me XD
No compression doesn't work either way Not sure if RTP is damaged.

Hey guys!

I'm actually the "fan" that couldn't run the demo. Thanks Dragon God for your help.

As you have read, I'm having problems running his demo. I couldn't run the game even with the RTP file installed.

I already tried the backward compatibility settings but that didn't work. I also agree with Windows 8 being "wonky" and almost makes me want to switch back to Vista.

That's pretty much the gist of the whole thing. I wasn't aware of Dragon God's error with the RTP file though.
Your welcome !

If this helps at all, I'd like to report that I recently updated to Windows 8.1 (64 bit version) and I noticed no problems with RMVX Ace so far. I used Windows 8 before and it also worked ok.

The only difference I see is how the game behaves when you toggle fullscreen. On my PC (Win7) game is stretched to 16:9 ratio, while on (Win8.1) notebook the aspect ratio remains unchanged (black bars on the sides). I don't know for sure if it's related to the system but I thought it's worth mentioning.

No, that is related to grafic card and grafic driver, has nothing to do with the operating system.

If you can't compress the game data internally, you can still make an archive of the game folder with external utilities or windows compression.

In that case the resulting archive will be without RTP and without encryption, but you can transfer that data to other PCs for testing (or to compress there if you install RM on a that PC as well)

@OP: The game.exe file alone is already 137 kb, it doesn't make sense that your whole project is also 137 kb... and also as I posted above, the link you sent to Blade contains only game.exe and not the compressed project

I can only goes as far as archiving it, and it ain't good if people copy my data without my permission. The only other PCs nearby is my desktop and that hardware is old and slower then this crappy laptop. That desktop has been in my family since I was a kid, I think it's my mom's PC from college. Kinda surprise my mom is able to use it for Facebook. None of my pc games like Aion Online nor FF14 can run on it.

There's another laptop that belongs to my mom, that's my last option cause my younger brother won't let me use his new laptop worth a damn. The forces of the universe are against me. I feel depress now.

I'm aware of that. File size ain't the issue anymore.I'm more concern why I can't compress my data.

Either a damaged RM (try reinstalling), an incompatible background program (try disabling unneccessary programs) or a damaged windows library (try to go to a previous system recovery point if it's recently damaged, or reinstall your entire windows if it's older)

Don't forget to backup all important data before you try anything to repair the problem, however

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
