Is there any way to set the hero's animation type to something like Continuous?

I really just need to make my hero walk in place.

Thanks!  :rock-right:

With the normal hero it's not so easy, but you can use a charset which has 3 versions of the hero graphic, one for each step (left, middle, right), but in each of them the corresponding step frame should be used in all 3 places. Not sure how to explain this correctly.

Then you can just use a parallel process event which cycles the hero through the three charsets.

If you only need this feature temporarily, e.g. during a cut scene, consider hiding the hero and showing a normal event with the hero's charset instead.

An easier way to do this might be to have an event for the hero on each map where this might occur that is using the walking animation.

Using a parallel process, you can make the hero transparent, set the event location of the "dummy hero" to be on top of the hero, and make that event's movement correspond to arrow keys. If this is only needed on a few maps, this will be an easy solution.

Theoretically yes, but you might get into all kinds of awkward situations because you only "assume" what the hero is supposed to do.

Hm. What would the hero be doing that an event representing them couldn't do?

Yeah, I figured this out but forgot to mention it. Thank you so much for your help!
