Hi there!

If there isn't any problem in doing so, is there someone here with the RPG Maker 2003 installer to send to me?

After the 1.12 update, I replaced my previous backup installer with the new 1.12 version and the RPG Maker Web site don't have any download link for previous versions (as far I know, if I'm wrong, please enlighten me on where I can find these old versions).

The new version added an option to allow controls with both analog stick and directional pad to work, but as I confirmed, if the D-Input controller have only the D-pad (like the one below), it causes a bug that makes the character/menu selection keeps going upwards forever.

This is a urgent matter for me, because I will release my game next month. It's already finished, and I'm in the beta testing phase right now, but I only learned that these D-input controls are buggy when I started the beta testing.

The "free" first part of my game didn't had this bug, because it was released with the 1.11 version. If I release the second "paid" part of my game with this bug, players will surely feel cheated and it probably will cause a lot of sales losses and will result in a bad reputation for the game.

So, if there isn't any problem in doing so, is there someone here that still have the RPG Maker 2003 1.11 installer to send to me?

Reminds me an old bug of rpgmaker 2k3.
The problem is not given by the new version.
Try searching "rpg maker 2k3 key glitch" on google(I don't know if i can insert links that refer to external forums/steam discussions).

Yes, but this glitch is not in the 1.11 version. I didn't understand why it came back in the 1.12 that should carry the previous fixes.

I tested the released version to check if it was a controller issue, and confirmed it's working perfectly with the 1.11 compiled game. If at least I had noticed it before replacing the installers...

There should be an RPG_RT.exe.old file in your game's project folder. If so, delete the current RPG_RT.exe file and rename the .old file to RPG_RT.exe (without the .old). If you don't have this .old file, copy the RPG_RT.exe file from your compiled v1.11 version over to your 1.12 version project and replace the v1.12 file with it. That way you should have the v1.11 runtime. Just make sure you never replace the v1.11 runtime with the v1.12 one and don't use event commands that are new in v1.12.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
