Hello good people,

i'm working on a simple investigation game where combat is not required so..

how can make i game without a battle system?

i'm thinking about removing all references to HP,Inventory,Skills,Items,Abilites,Encounters ecc.. So the first point i think to work on is just to adjust the in-game menu leaving just the SAVE, LOAD and QUIT buttons in a very simple screen centered window.

Can you help me? I'm a total noob so i need someone to take my hand and guide me patiently  :D

Thanks a lot!

No Items? Items could be usefull in an Investigation Game, also maybe rename Key Items into Notes or Evidence?

I see your point, maybe i should keep in the menu an "Inventory/Evidence" button alongside the SAVE, LOAD and EXIT ones.

How can i set the menu like that? scripts? can you guide me?

thank you in advance

Have a look at this plugin:

https://soulxregalia.wordpress.com/2015/11/21/rmv-horror-menu-customizer/

It removes everything except for (key) items, save/load, options and quit from the menu.

The download link gives you a .rar archive you need to extract with a program like 7-zip. There should be a .js file inside. Just place it into the js/plugins folder of your project and add it to an empty slot in the Plugin Manager.

Thank you! This is exactly what i was looking for.

Can you also tell me how can i manage the game start menu? I'd like to add a "Quit" button under "Options" and change the background image/music but i don't know where to start..

You can change the background image and music in the Database (under the System tab, I think). To add a Quit option to the main menu, you would need another plugin - I can't look for one right now, but if you search for "RPG Maker MV main menu plugin" you should find one.

There are a bunch of tutorials to get started on different aspects. If you are more of a visual learner then I suggest youtube for a ton of video tutorials. Once you have a good basic handle of the engine now then it comes down to experimenting!

It has been a long journey to where I am at now and I am still learning new things constantly!

Good luck and happy game making!

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
