[RMMV] I need a characterset of a battler, please

Can anyone make a characterset for this guy?  He needs to be about twice as big as the regular characters, but not as big as the gods/goddesses.

I'm not sure what you mean.  Do you mean that I should link to the site that this image came from instead of showing the actual image?  If so, then that an overly complicated endeavour.  The image is of a battler that comes in a pack so linking to the image links to a post where you have to download a zip file.  After that you have to open the file and search for the image from the contents.


I just used a paragraph to tell you how to do something I did for you to make it easier and less complicated.


Now if you are trying to give credit to the artist then I can understand that since that makes some sense, but I don't see the point to do it here since I already give credit in my game for the image.  I can still link to the artist, but it seems to be a useless step to ask a question.


Akashics Librarium < This is a link to the image file, named Clorfos.  Apparently you can now download the single image from a database.  This has the animated battler that I got the image from.  I cropped the battler so that only the image is there so that it would be easier to see what I wanted.


It's still an overly complicated matter to do this when I can just post an image and ask and the potential helper will not have to jump through as many hoops to help.

There are several aspects that you forgot about this provedure, and that is why mlogan asked for that change.


1) several artists do not want their art reposted on the internet, even if you are allowed to use them in your game. That is so that everyone who wants to use them goes to their site.


But if you do not tell us where that image comes from, then we can't check what the artist set as terms-of-use


2) it is absolutely forbidden to post ripped resources here, and links to ripped resources will be removed - but again, without credits and links we can't see if your attachment is a rip or not


3) you should always credit an artist for every use of the art. Posting here is a use that is different from using in your game, so credit is required here as well.


That said, people have been banned for credit theft when claiming some art for their own, because that is one of the mosr important rules to the artists going around here - credit theft is a main offence.


But without credit or claim who made that picture, again we can't check for that.

Andar's explanation is exactly why we ask this. It's to protect the creators and respect their terms of use. For example, Aekashic's terms state " Please if you feel like reposting and sharing my resources (Thank you!) , link back to this website!" http://www.akashics.moe/terms-of-use/


In other words, he/she does not want anyone freely posting the resources around the web. I understand the inconvenience of having to dig through stuff, but we have to uphold the artist's wishes.

Ok, I understand that, but I wasn't posting it for others to use in their game or distribution.  I was posting an image as reference material for a request based on it, not for distribution as a resource.  Plus, it's a modified version of the original (which I was not posting as my work or as a resource for someone's game).  I've read his terms and conditions and I read nothing about using  modified version for a request like this...  his terms seem to imply he doesn't want his stuff posted on other forums for distribution without his permission.  He also says not to post modified version of his stuff for distribution.  He specially mentions reposting and making some public and sharing resources. I did none of that since all I was doing was giving a reference for someone.
 


I understand giving proper credit and respecting terms and conditions, but they only imply the posting as a distribution resource, not as a request resource. Maybe it would be better if the terms and conditions were more specific about it since I seem to have interpreted the wording differently than you did.

Please stop trying to justify it. The Resource Request section rules ask you to post links and not the direct image. Whether you posted that intending to share it, someone could take it from your post and use it for their own purposes. But really, it doesn't matter. The rules state to use a link. You understand now why, and the post has been altered accordingly.

I put this together just using the Character Generator in MV.


The yellow highlights on the armor should be pink, but I will fix that. Just wanted to see what you thought of it.

That might actually work...  I didn't think I could get a good result from the Character Maker [in fact I tried, but didn't like how it came out], but that actually could work.  Thank you...  Did you use any custom generator parts?  I don't remember seeing those horns in the default....  If so, point in the direction of the artist so I can credit them.

Horns came from Cronus' MV Generator Pack, however he states in the thread that credit is not required to use the assets for commercial or non-commercial games.

Dang....  I can do minor edits and stuff, but this changes a little out of my skill range.
