Hi, I'm Tornado Summoner.

(This topic may have been posted before and the only things close to what I was searching for was uncompatible with RMVXA.)

I am currently in the process of developing a horror game and I would like to disable the tabs in the game menu such as "Skills", "Equipment", "Formation", and etc. as I find them unnessecary. The only tabs I would like to keep are only "Save", "Items", and "End Game." Is there a script for this? Any solutions are appreciated. :D

No need for a script, just go to the Script Database and find the menu one I believe, and delete the lines of the ones you want :)

It's that easy? Are you sure it won't corrupt the game, or the other scripts having to do with them?

Sorry I wasn't very specific, go to Window_Menu Command (in the script editor)

Scroll down to CREATE COMMAND LIST, and do this:

KEEP        add_main_commands

DELETE    add_formation_command

KEEP        add_original_commands

DELETE    add_save_command

KEEP        add_game_end_command

 

Also for the others: ADD MAIN COMMANDS TO LIST:

 

KEEP   add_command(Vocab::item,   :item,   main_commands_enabled)

DELETE    add_command(Vocab::skill,  :skill,  main_commands_enabled)

DELETE    add_command(Vocab::equip,  :equip,  main_commands_enabled)

DELETE   add_command(Vocab::status, :status, main_commands_enabled)

 

I've done it before and tested it just in case :)

Also instead of deleting the lines, you can put a # as a first character, thus commenting it out.

You mean I don't have to entirely eradicate the sentence, just leave a # symbol? Or am I misunderstanding?

# This is a comment because of the # symbol on start.

# Every comment is not executed by the computer.

# So commenting out a line of code, will make it like it does not exist.

# But if you change your mind later and maybe need save, you can delete that # and voila! Save is back!

add_main_commands

#  add_formation_command

add_original_commands

#  add_save_command

add_game_end_command

Wow! Thanks for the response! I was beginning to have trouble with that because I was thinking, "Man, how am I going to remember what I deleted?". Thanks for the solution!
