My idea is to have a new skill generator. Making it more like a collection game. If you keep playing you'll always be able to generate new skills and keep trying to roll for the absolute best. Eventually having all Legendary skills vs the starting Common skills. But even when you get all Legendary maybe you have characters that are stronger with Magic Attack's so it'd be better if you found a really good skill for Magic. Or maybe you found a really great sword that would make an awesome sword attack with a Legendary skill a lot stronger.

Anyways here some pictures of what I have in mind.



Each of the skill types would have to have an array of possible choices for stat modifications that would apply to skills. For example something like [skillType, Scope, Repeats, HitType, DamageType, Element, Critical, Variance, Effects] I think all of those could easily be done since they are a core section of the game. Then the user could assign each skill type different things from the array to be the defaults for when the new skill is rolled on. For instance we could just take everything out but Repeats on the Dagger so that every time a Dagger Skill Type is rolled up in the rand it add +1 Repeat to the new skill. Axe could add just Critical. Staff could add just Element. Making the example below do a Base damage of 30 with an increased chance to critical, repeats once, and has a random element type for it's Damage.

Please let me know if I need to explain some parts better. It's easy to understand something when it's in your head but a lot harder to pen it out for other people.

Letting them name the new skill themselves eliminates the need to generate random names. If we did random names we'd have to create a database of possible name combinations and they wouldn't always sound good together. Just be a lot easier if we could allow them to name the skills themselves.



Once the new skill is made it should be made as an item with learn skill on it < pointing to the new skill they made and named appropriately. Then it should be updated in the shop menu so they can purchase it. Skill's with 2 type's in them for 500G. Skills that ended up with 3, like the mock up example 1000G. And the top tier skill 5000G.

Again please let me know if I should try to make any parts clearer.
