Hey guys. Dalph gave me an idea. Having never heard of nor seen a high desert before, he wanted me to take some pictures of my vacation. So I did! One morning, there were rain-bearing clouds everywhere. The desert was unusually cool that morning and the sky's usual explosion of color was only enhanced by the cloud cover. I was in awe.
Included in the string is a picture of my father (right side) and my Native American Uncle. (Left Side)
Here are two of my favorites.
Facing the sunrise directly. Those mountains emit some kind of strange peaceful, tranquil energy... This is way zoomed in.
Facing the wilds. More sunrise. I was with my dog enjoying a nice walk. It can be perilous though... the spiders, snakes, and larger lizards.
Here's the whole album.
The reason it's called the HIGH desert is because this part of the desert is some 3,500 feet in elevation. Crossing over a mountain pass to get here was the most interesting part. Going up the pass was very steep. Coming down is a very _very_ gradual decent that lasts about 50-60 miles.Maybe more. So you literally have bits of mountain life and desert life (and the aromas. omg. Intoxicating! <3) all in one.
What about you? Share pics of your recent vacation(s)! Share bits about why you took the pictures you did.
Rules:
Obviously, nothing that is against RMW's TOS
Keep it clean.
Okay, let's see your photos!
