Hello, I was wondering if anyone either knew of, or could make a battle script and a battle HUD Style similar to the one in Robopon 2 for the Gameboy Advance. Basically It uses a single Actor/actors on the map itself and when they enter battle it will go into a x on x battle (max limit of a team is 4, so 4x4) Like so:
Similar to the Pokemon series where a trainer tosses out a pokemon and they do battle, this works in a similar fashion, Whenever you select a monster to do battle it goes to the center and attack a selected monster, the selected monster goes to the middle indicating that it is being attacked, once finished both monsters go back to the center. On death the monster falls over and its corpse sits there on the line.
Also note the HUD of the system itself, the currently selected "Monster" has their information displayed on a box in the top and the monster they are attacking on the other side. Each creature on your side has an HP Meter displayed (which goes up too 999 and down to 0) The selection menu (for attack, defending, magic, etc) looks like this:
(The middle icon up top was used to denote a crit/miss/death modifier, It spins like a slot until the move is made).
In this case i know i can align the enemies like this as I wish technically, but it was the summoning of your own creatures and the overall Battle HUD that I am looking for (the box in the middle I think would be something really cool for a visual representation of when you receive a critical strike on something).
I'm not trying to make a Robopon clone really, but in all honesty when i played this game (after playing the first one and the Pokemon games) I actually loved the look and overall feel of it, because of the style of battle it felt fast overall, not dragged out, the style of the menu icons was a new experience for me and its something that I still have yet to see on another game, How each actor did battle was cool, it brought them to the spotlight and made it look like they were doing something, (the sprites are animated so when they went up they'd actually do their respective animation). Just overall it was a good experience. If anyone would like to help/let me know if one exists, then by all means please let me know!
Thank you very much for your time
