I've always been interested in making a rogue-like/lite game. I've been drawing inspirations from games like Slay the spire, wizard of legends, ETG and a few other lesser known roguelikes/lites
Here's a few ideas i have for the game:
Map: A large consistent maze-like map, available routes are randomly chosen. Player gets dropped in from different corners of said map. Encounters and events are randomly placed in the map, Floor boss will always be in the middle of the mal
Battle: ATB with no wait, skills take a few frames to cast. Abilities that can counter/dodge attacks with perfect timing
A mix and magic system where you can combine different spells to cast new ones
No mana, spells are cast using limited resources (can be obtained)
Movement: movement is based on a dice (maybe a d20?), players can freely choose which direction (forward, backwards, etc)
Misc: players have items that can change the tiles they will land on before rolling the dice.
Usual roguelite hub systems
, upgrades, pre-run shop, prep room.
I'd really appreciate the feedback for any of the individual mechanics. I'm still a bit doubtful on the board game mechanic of it, but i'm very firm on using the battle system i have in mind
