I got RPG make MV back in September and everything has been working fine. Occasionally it would crash, but they were pretty rare and usually only after using it for a period of time, however, recently I have ran into an issue where I can't get the launcher to load

So what happened is I loaded MV and it went fine. I went to get into my database and MV crashed (this isn't the first time the data base has crashed on me, but it normally doesn't do it as soon as I laod it). Now every time I try to boot MV from steam I just get a white screen.


In addition in the debug file I found this repeated over and over again. Although the numbers (0909/222411) change from time to time they seem to be ticking up.

I read somewhere on the forums about it trying to locate a file with a non-English character and that moving the RPG maker install may help.

I tried updating my graphics drivers as well as using the opengl32.dll file, but when I put that into the MV folder it didn't work (I also tried just putting it into my steam apps folder for laughs). Although I tried it again the other day and I got RPG maker MV to load, however, it crashed as soon as I went into the database again and went right back to the same problems.

I also tried verifying the install on steam, uninstalling and reinstalling it. I restarted and rebooted the computer (twice actually). Tried running as administrator and in compatibility mode which also didn't work. I also tried a system restore and while that seemed to help RPG maker something messed up and my computer pretty much stopped working and I had to undo it. I have not tried uninstalling and installing the game to somewhere outside of program files, but i'm not sure if that would help given that it was working just fine and only recently stopped working.

I also have a partitioned hard drive and store my games on a drive separate from the install of MV, however, I deleted all my games (at this point everything thus far has just been me testing out some stuff) to see if it was a problem with the game itself, but it still won't load.

I have a MSI GE62 2QD Apache Pro laptop


Windows 10 64bit OS


I run it through steam
Intel I7 processor
Nividia GeForce 960M as well as integrated intel graphics (I tried to run it through both graphics cards just to see if maybe one worked over the other).

Every other game I tried on steam loads including RPG maker VX ACE.

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it!
