I dont see RPG Maker 2000 USA release in the news, on the front page, on Steam, on Wikipedia or anywhere EXCEPT the sneakily placed Humble Bundle deal.

Another member told me that it's not out yet but will be out soon. However I already bought it and am using it. AND it's awesome. I'm just mind baffled that it's not in the news everywhere. This release is so important to me it should have been ALL OVER facebook and the newspaper.

If you ask me, this is probably a mistake that I had access to this before being announced.

Either way. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DIDNT THINK THIS TO BE POSSIBLE!!!

mmm ... officially it's not out if it's not on the store, the website or Steam. Is it an English version you got with the Humble Bundle? Wishing I hadn't deleted that email now!

It's interesting that this forum is called RPG Maker 2000/2003. I thought it was only 2K3. Maybe that's a sign that release is imminent.

The bundle has 90% off vouchers. But where do you actually go to buy it and get the 90% off?

2 weeks to buy the bundle,  then you have till October 21, 2015 to redeem the 90% off coupons for XP/2000/2003.  Also, it seems the coupon is tied to the email address used to buy the bundle.

1.60, Value version!

Supports practically all the enhancements 2003 had I think too.

There's a problem with the translation though. The combat menus and maybe some other stuff have no spaces.

For example if Alex fell, it says Alexfell.

I think all the commands ive seen have that. Luckily I can fix that myself, but it would be annoying having to do it for every project...

Unless I fix it to replace the main database file so I dont have to do it, but still unsatisfying since everyone will have to do that extra step.

First off, thank you for your hard work translating and bringing [rpgm2000] to the american shores.

I noticed one problem though, in Windows7 (32bit & 64bit versions) when play testing, 2k has some serious 'lag' issues.

I realize this is an old program,so some issues are expected, but i also own '2003' and it runs fine in [ XP compatibity mode] using

'Run as administrator' where as 2000 under the same settings lag severely. It's very possible it may be my laptop.

Here are the specs:

Computer it resides on:

Dell Latitude E6410

2gb Onboard graphics card

intel i5 cpu

4gb laptop ram memory

Anyone else having this problem?

I got both 2000 (English) and 2003 (English) from the Humble Bundle.  TOTALLY worth it.  Also, Shaz, yeah.  The coupons are for the Humble Store and they are applied within the cart if you have an account there and claim the page that you purchased via the "Pay What You Want" method.  Paid $4.50 for the both of them with the coupons.  I'd say that is QUITE a steal, however, the 2000 version is standalone while the 2003 version is Steam only.  Was hoping for the standalone version of 2003, but I'll cope with it.

Also, now I can use the OSM Pack 1 with any game dev engine, which is something I really wanted!  If you pay the $12 for everything, you also get a bunch of RM packs that were/were not non-RM as non-RM now.  Nothing Enterbrain related, obviously, but stuff like Celi's Rural Farms and Sharm's Pixel Myth: Germania are non-RM and for all of that for a fantastic price.  Totally worth it even if it was just for 2000/2003, Rural Farms and Germania alone.

EDIT:

My mistake!  I was thinking of Pixel Myth being in the GameDev Front store and being non-RM and somehow I blended it into the Humble Bundle.  Sorry, major error.  Disregard what I said on that! @_@

Pixel Myth is not in my bundle, so maybe djDark confused it with something else?

Not in mine either.  The only pixel resources I can think of are VexedEnigma's POP! Horror stuff.

It's great to have this one out too.  Really the only issues I have with it is the lagging/jerking when running the game in full screen, and the lack of spaces in the default system messages like "has fallen" and such.  Thanks guys for releasing this one as well.

Wait, I'm sorry.  I was confusing myself.  No, Pixel is not there.  I don't know why I thought it was.  My mistake folks!  Edited to redact.  Sorry Sharm! @_@

lol I guess we can be more forgiving when early news casts get the facts wrong.

Breaking news is hard to tie down, evidently. =D

No problem.  I was just worried that there'd been some sort of mix up.
