Lulz!

But why would someone want an older maker when there's a newer better one out there? (Price I can understand...)

The strangest April Fool's joke I've heard was when the BBC, in its usual matter-of-fact deadpan delivery calmly remarked that the spaghetti crops weren't going well this year, so the spaghetti prices would go up.  They showed workers taking cooked spaghetti off trees.

A fairly large number of people fell for it, because it was the BBC pulling the prank, and at the time, in the UK, spaghetti was mainly distributed in cans, so many didn't really know where spaghetti came from.
...

NOSTALGIA, my friend! I could go on for years about the happy times I had with RM2K/3 (heck, even RM95)... I wouldn't have been prepped for my chosen path as a game designer were it not for these great programs.

Man, I loooove RPG Maker 2000. Heck, I still use it occasionally to work on an old project I never finished. If RPG Maker 2000's level cap wasn't set to 50, and it's SPIRIT stat didn't have such a small effect on magic's scaling potential, it'd be my go-to maker even over VX Ace.

Yeah this made me want to finish this first game I did. Even though it's quite crappy , just for the sake of saying "Ok guys it's DONE.". And then get stoned due to the poor quality of the result lol.

RM2K does so much out of the gate. Sure, it doesn't have scripts, but it had so much more by default, and many users proved they could make games that look just as appealing through creative event codes as somebody could do with a script.

But damn you guys! This is the meanest April Fool's joke yet. I literally was reaching for my credit card when I saw the date and my moment of excitement dropped to utter sadness.

Exactly, exactly. I was disappointed that XP was missing a lot of the functions present in 2K and 2K3. VXA restored a lot of them (along with those classic sound effects! Yeah!! :D ), but for some reason was missing the graphical complexity of XP by default (fogs, three layers of mapping, etc.). Yeah, there are scripts, but still.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
