I updated the opening topic because it seems that some people are new to Release Something and I'm getting tired of answering the same question over and over again.

- This event encourages you to work on your old projects. This event is designed in a way to help you get motivated on your old project. So yes, old projects are allowed as long as the progress made is done within the timeline of the event.

Firstly, cheers to Archeia and the whole staff for bringing back the birthday thing. It's a fun event, and I'm super happy to see it again! While I do intend to get some work done on several project for a few submissions, I really wanted to jump in with something brand new. With that...

@Archeia I would like to submit my mapping-demo for Witch of the Wicked Woods!
RMW Link (edit: it's live. Staff is on top of things today! Thanks @staff)
Itch Link (this is the gamepage link)

Also, Happy Birthday RPG Maker!

Shoot I had no idea an event like this was going! But hmmm.... since I bought 2003 & XP, I could whip up a fun, short game before the deadline... hehehe.... my participation shall be a maybe, but it's a good excuse to test run finally owning these engines! Shouldn't be too hard from VX Ace.

Rolling out a boss event... Now both as video and playable demo! Cheers!

( I'll just have to edit out to a download version, still this video includes the lead up :p )

Playable Boss Demo: Itch.io Link
After the initial duel at Fort Lunashire, Kip and Dusty track the rest of the Moon City Gang into the mines where they operated from. After traversing deeper and deeper into the mines, The pair of heroes start to realize that this wasn’t simply a few criminals. The outlaw gang were definitely a part of a fleet of space pirates if not, somehow, connected to an even more notorious organization. Upon reaching the deepest parts of the mines, the roundup was off, and the law-for-hire pair started looking for clues to bring in the real authorities. That’s when they stumbled upon (name redacted, and demo has image exchanged too!) with some kind of alien monster…

This is the boss at the end of the first dungeon, found after clearing several floors of a mine. The introductory dungeon introduces several plot elements and world-building along the way. Upon clearing the mine, the player is then swapped to the other player-actors to have the plot develop. This boss is not the gateway keeper to further dungeoning, but is symbolic of the story moving from introductions to actual progression.

@Archeia Boss fight demo! Includes a short leadup, the fight, and the immediate aftermath. The video is close enough for those that don't want to bother, but there is a playable version on the link above! :)

(v1.1 fixes a missing status menu resource, thanks to @Rose Guardian for finding my error!)

I went with the boss too for something I was working on. I also chose to release an updated demo of Dark Slayers as well as my other. I will update with the download link as soon I work through the demo release, and will also provide a detailed description of the boss battle. I hope no one minds me submitting more than one thing. I am trying to do quality over quantity.

EDIT:
@Archeia
Here is the download link to the playable boss battle
https://rose-guardian.itch.io/dark-slayers

I will update the RMW Page shortly.

The boss fight is in the lab part of the mansion. It's a monster who Tom thought he killed. It suddenly attacks them when they are getting ready to leave the mansion.

So this event kinda got me to starting to work on one of my games, that is a sequel to one of my games. I had quite a bit of dialogue written out in a document and although I still need to finish the story, there's a lot of it already present, and so i began mapping and eventing it. I am debating if I get a good enough amount, I may even release a demo of it for this event. This event really is encouraging to begin old projects again and I missed this project and its world and its ridiculous-ness, etc. ^^

I think I am dropping out of this event- I am not liking the direction my "game jam" project is going, and my main project I want to focus on is not a RPG Maker project. I would just do a map or something, but since the rules state it has to be from a game project, that no longer makes me eligible for the event...

@Archeia since fan-art is also a viable entry here is my first piece of fan-art :D

This piece is inspired by @Mrs_Allykat 's Port Phobos : First Boss video & demo.
(Everything is drawn and colored by hand except the lettering and outer border).

Hopefully this piece qualifies as "considerable amount of effort" as you specified as a rule, regardless it was a lot of fun to make :D

Port Phobos : Coup de Gras

And of course good luck to anyone & everyone participating in this event! :D

Lunar New Year is over :( but it's time to get back to work!
I keep giving myself deadlines because I'm so excited to finish something but I notice areas where I'm rushing the story and that's what's gonna weaken my overall project, gotta stop that
My new level features a Jellyfish character who cannot love, because he electrocutes everything he touches.
I prefer single roommates. After a hard day, all you want is sleep. I went to bed at 12. I was awakened at 2 because of my roommate laughing and whispering and stuff with her boyfriend on the phone. I didn't want to yell at her so I had to bear that cringy lovey dovey convo for half an hour, before I got so bored that I fell asleep again.
