Hey guys, time for round two! This time, this topic covers RMDS+ issues.
 
This topic will serve as a list to any questions about the resource pack. Please read the rules first before asking here.
The pack should have some tutorial videos. So please consult that first before posting there! There's also some readme and pdf files included. 
Me and EvilEagles will do our best to provide support.
 
F.A.Q

  • Please consult the Video Tutorials first before asking us about tileset bugs. Check out the samples maps first too just in case.
  • Check this file on how to run the Generator. There's no bug in the Generator or how it displays stuff. It's just like that.

Known Issues

  • Zalerinian's Console Script. For the Console and Window_Textbox scripts, using caps lock (everything gets typed in a capital letter) and pressing a number key will produce an error. Caps lock + number(0-9) = error!
Fixed in V1.01

  • Missing Portrait, StudentBM.
  • On the sheet for "Robot-1" the third and fourth robots on the first row have their standing/idle frames placed on the left rather than the middle column.
  • Added the Readme,pdf for the generator.
  • Battler Artifacts.

I have managed to find an error with my scripts, actually.
 
For the Console and Window_Textbox scripts, using caps lock (everything gets typed in a capital letter) and pressing a number key will produce an error. I will have this fixed in a later update, as it is not a crucial issue. Caps lock is not used much, so I don't expect this issue to come up often, but I will fix it.

short version:
Caps lock + number(0-9) = error!

I know this question is going to make me look like a complete dimwit, but having carefully gone through all the folders in my download, I can't see either the battlebacks or the parts for the generator.  Where are they stashed?

I also see from the OP that there are tutorial videos.  My tutorials folder only has 4 screen shots and a short note on tilesets

Battlebacks are in the bonus (640x480) and RMDS+ Resource Pack\Graphics\Battlebacks1 or Battlebacks2 (544x416)

The Generators are in RMDS+ Resource Pack\[EXTRA]. Consult this one to understand it.

Maybe try redownloading? I'm not sure why it appears like that for you.

I re-downloaded, and this time saw what obviously must have happened the first time.  Norton antivirus decided to quarantine the bonus file, so of course I didn't realise it was there to be extracted.  I have rescued the file from the jaws of Norton, and everything now appears to be fine.  Sorry for the false alarm.

Is it okay to say something about the freebie pack??

Well, I don't know how important this is, it's more about aesthetics than function, but Fomar0153's Throw Weapons script. Is there anyway to mix normal skills with throw weapon skills? So, during battle, the same command lists normal skills of skill type 12 or whatever, but also have throw weapon skills in skill type 12? On the menu it shows up just fine. If not, is there anyway to have some weapons perform a different skill? It's so tempting to like, get some Final Fantasy type throwing in, particularly Shadow's method...(some of his throwable items hit all foes, or give himself a state)

I don't even know if this should be asked, really. But where else can I?

It's better to PM Fomar that. I slightly doubt he'd take aesthetic requests though.

Hi,

I just tried to create a new project with the DS+ tileset, and it seems that "DSPlus_TileA1.png" and "DSPlus_TileA5_Cliff.png" are "off", at least in my download. I've linked to the wonky tileset below, please ping me if I should remove it.

Hey, TileA5 Cliff was just something that I accidentally put in, it was a version a friend asked for. It's not really used as is. Also, please consult the Tutorial Vid #2 Shfit Mapping. It's explained there how that's used. If you also want an idea how those tilesets are used, please check the sample maps.

Okay, I'll ignore the A5 tileset. But that still doesn't help me with the A1 auto tileset, which is still not functional.

I opened the sample project, picked the Sengoku Sample Maps/Mountain Village and this is a shrink toolbar and village screen cap.



Here is the first set of tiles in the tool bar, it should be clear that something is off with the auto tiles in the A1 tileset, even in the sample project.



I followed the nice video tutorial, copied the tileset database into a test project and did a set of 3x3 sample draws of each of the above auto tiles. From the 3x3 test it should be clear that tiles A2, A7, B1, B3, B5, and B7 are not functional. Unsure about B2.

You Shift Right Click with Those Tilesets. That is said in Video Tutorial 2. Halfway it even shows you how to use it.

They can't be used as-is or formatted like what you expect in VXACE tileset formatting because of how it should be displayed. They're not broken.

Don't draw 3x3 squares. You need to draw 2x2 squares and use Shift Click on those instead. Maybe this little guide can help you.

Thanks :)

This time I actually watched the tutorial, that combined with Evil Eagles helpful drawing, and some experiments in my test project, it makes sense :)

Can't download the readme, says I don't have permission for that. Or the generator for that matter.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
