It seems to only crash when I close an edit window. And it's happened twice, which is absolutely frustrating after an HOUR without a save. Anyone know a fix?

Try to Reinstalling it, maybe It's because its components are corrupted....

if the editor crashes, then there are only two possibilities:
1) your editor file is damaged and needs to be reinstalled
2) a background program forces the editor to close
as said above, reinstall (best with a redownloaded installer if you have the standalone version, if on steam clear steam download cache before reinstalling)
If that doesn't solve the problem, it is a background program that interferes and you need to find out which one it is by checking the logs of all your anti-programs as well as whatever you've loaded into your background tasks.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
