Hi Everyone,
 
Thanks for the overwhelming support during the first few days of the launch.
We’ve been receiving tons of great feedback from all of you. Many of you have been using RPG Maker MV without running into any issues but some of you have been having problems with the program and for that we are very sorry.
 
We had over 30 people beta testing RPG Maker MV before launch and a number of problems were identified and fixed. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch all of them and some issues/bugs have been reported over the last few days.
 
We communicated these problems to the developers in Japan first thing Monday morning and have the first round of fixes/updates available. We’ve detailed them below and more are on the way.
If you're using the standalone version than the steam version, this is the latest build. Please put the files manually in your RPG Maker MV folders.
 
Languages:
With the new version you can now select the language you wish to use RPG Maker MV in as follows:
 
Steam : In your library, right click on RPG Maker MV, select properties and open the Language tab. Once you choose language RPG Maker MV will update and start in the selected language on next boot.
 
You can also open the RPG Maker MV folder and add/edit the Locale file to put only the language code you want (two letters) from the list below :
en // English
fr // French
de // German
es // Spanish
it // Italian
pt // Portuguese
ru // Russian
 
Translation issues
It’s been brought to our attention that some of the translations provided for RPG Maker MV are inaccurate/incomplete. We are reviewing all of the translations thoroughly and will be fixing/updating them over the coming weeks. Our apologies for this.
 
Bug when the decimal is set to “,”
This has been fixed
 
Bug where checkbox would sometimes not display the Check Mark:
This has been fixed.
 
Bug  that could cause the map size to be empty on edition, resulting in a 0x0 map:
This has been fixed.
 
The bugs listed below require you to REPLACE the base js files in EACH project folder, with the corrected base files. This is only for existing projects, new projects should work properly from the start.

Destination: {{Project folder}}/js
Files to update : rpg_core.js, rpg_objects.js
 
Water Autotile Bug:
Render method was changed and slowdown should be much less pronounced
 
Frequency 5 Bug :
Now the event correctly stops when frequency is set to 5
 
Bug when you changed class using the keep XP
 This has been fixed
 
Base Resource : the images :
BaseResource\img\sv_enemies\SF_GothicLolita.png
BaseResource\img\enemies\SF_GothicLolita.png
These have been replaced with a cleaned up version of the image.

Plugin :
Help for MenuSubMember is now in English.
 
We’re working on more fixes and updates and will be sharing more info about this shortly.

Sorry to be a bit dense about this, but there is something I'm not sure about.

In the new download, the third item (the icon) is an application file.  I thought that maybe it replaced the file represented by a icon called 'Game' but it doesn't overwrite that, so presumably it does not.  What do I do with it and where does it go?

EDIT

I have just seen that after putting in the 2 new js files, some of my custom tiles have been obliterated from my tile sets, resulting in blank patches on the maps where they were used.  So far the ones I have noticed were all on A5 tile sheets.

Extract all the contents of the zip to the main MV application folder. 

Then from that folder, go to New Data folder and just copy the JS files specified to your own project folder.

For everyone using the standalone version:

To change your language you have to copy the Locale file from within the language folder you wish to use into the folder where your RPGMV.exe is!

I don't know exactly what was done, but everything seems to be so much more stable! The Battles that used to lag consistently hardly have a skip at all to them and while the Menu still has a bit of lag it's not as obtuse as it was. Great work guys and gals! Looks like with a little optimization MV can run fine on this old hunk of junk, hehe.

Here is an example (scaled down because it is rather big) of what the update has done to my maps.

My custom water has been replaced by the default water and other custom tiles have vanished.  To say that I am distraught at this would be an understatement.

Did you check your tileset tab? Maybe you accidentally replaced your data files?

I think that might be it.  Not sure yet.  My main problem is that the final edited versions were only in the project files, the ones in my resources folders are a couple of edits further back, so I shall have to redo them and hope I can get them to match.  That's my fault, of course.  I didn't want to keep copy/pasting to 2 locations over and over, and thought I'd wait until I had the absolute final versions.  That'll teach me.

Where do we get the cleaned up version of SV_GothicLolita.png? That wasn't included in the link to the latest build?

I don't know if this is already being addressed but when you click on the animations tab and select the animations (don't need to play them), the memory goes from 100mb to 600mb of usage permanently (you can quickly reproduce this with selecting the first and pressing the arrow down key to pass through them). Closing the database window won't reduce the memory usage, the only way is to close the program. This is not affecting me, but it could affect who has 4gb ram or less.

2 solutions for this would be to either dispose of the loaded elements when selecting other item, or to dispose all loaded elements when closing the database window.

Edit: This is also true selecting tilesets.

Ok, copied over the files and still getting significant autotile lag which causes FPS to fall to like, 5 - then increase to 30 and goes wildly between 60 and 30. Showing text is even worse, with drops to 20.

I extracted the contents, in the root folder.

But now the tool lags again.

Also now there is a delay in the music that was not there before.

I can confirm this, memory usage has been improved but entering the tilesets/animations tabs and clicking on them increases the memory usage (by moving up or down with the arrows like Yurixy said you can see how it goes from 150mb to 600/700mb really fast) and closing the database doesn't reduced it.

Thanks for the v1.01, it's a lot more stable now, even the autotiles run better (40x24 map on 1080p it stays almost on a stable 60, with little drops to 58 from time to time). Being able to select english too, solving many of the other issues of freezes and more.

The editor lag remains, mapping and going to the database, between tabs all have lag, I hope that and the memory issue can be fixed too. 

It's looking a lot better now, Can't wait for future updates!

Whew... I've been on a tear recently. Been working nonstop. Feels really good to be back in the groove! I think it's because I can finally see the end approaching. I only have 8 more side quests to develop (then NPCs, some art, then pretty much done).
