I apologize.

I took some screen shots, but apparently I can't include them here.

The forum is causing me to pull my hair out. So many buttons cause me error.

Copy/Paste is failing. The open image box will not close with any button press for me. I cannot seem to load any media either. But that is an issue for another subject. Perhaps I need to use a different browser.

Regarding item 1: I apologize. I did not realize the command was F4. If you right click the maximize button there is no callout for the shortcut command.
Regarding item 2: I will try to send or include some kind of screenshot. A video is overkill, if you can see my screen shot it will be clear.

One can still use the drop down menus, but the nice thing about the GUI is the push button quick access. That is what get's obscured.

Well, there is no attachment option that I can see in the full editor.

I cannot load the files into my gallery/My Media.

And I have no desire to create yet another account just to post pictures on a forum.

Just to be sure...

I am using the standalone version of MV and so for this update I downloaded RPGMV1.01 .zip

1) Open the zip file which contains NewData, Locales, and RPGMV.exe

2) Drop the Locales folder into Program Files (x86) > KADOKAWA > RPGMV

3) Open New Data from RPGMV1.01 .zip  and you should see js,​ copy rpg_core and rpg_objects and paste them into the New Data folder from Program Files (x86) > KADOKAWA > RPGMV replacing the old rpg_core and rpg_objects.

4) Replace the old RPGMV.exe with the new RPGMV.exe from RPGMV1.01 .zip

5) Create a new shortcut from the new RPGMV.exe​

Hello Guys!


Are there any recent updates to RPG maker MV that I can apply? The demo is solid but still unstable. Anyway I can improve this (Manual updates)? I purchased MV through steam. 


The reason why I ask.... One of my play testers have found that if you switch between RPG maker and another application, such as word to record their findings, the demo freezes.... UG! (Happening on the PC version)


If you wish to test this please feel free to download the demo and stress test the demo yourself.

Steam is automatically uptodate, but we are all waiting for the next version to be completed with several improvements.


Changing between applications should not cause the computer to freeze - unless you mean windows' function to inactive a window that has no focus. But in both cases I would look for the cause on the computer (especially the computer's background programs), I haven't heard of such a bug in MV yet.


However, if you created your project with the 1.00 of RMMV (current is 1.01) then yes, you need to update some project files as well to remove some of the bugs - see first post in this topic. If your project was created with the 1.01 then you're current there as well.

Yeah. I would think the same about changing between applications wouldn't freeze the game on PC but I believe it does. The reason being, I tested the demo on two totally different PCs, a work computer, and a laptop computer. The game would work fine until focus was changed from one application to another on the PC's. We managed to cause the game to freeze 5 times (3 times on the laptop, and 2 on the work pc) simply by changing the focus on different applications (microsoft word mostly). However, when we decided to not stress test the application in this manner... the game ran smoothly with no hitches for hours. Each of the crashes, when changed applications, would occur quickly... within 2-10 minutes of the opening game cinematic. I guess it could be a coincidence but I think its more than that. 


I am running the 1.01 version. Do you know when (approx.) the next update will be and the improvements to be expected? Thanks.

Hello, there is something seriously wrong with my Steam version of RPG Maker MV.
I have been following update guides including those supplied here on the forums and for a while it has worked before-but until now my rpg maker is refusing to provide me files that are up to date namely the files in the libs folder i.e pixi.

I have done the usual method of backing up my project, making a new project and porting over the required files-but this time round they are files from 2015-1016 even though created in 2017. I have been advised to try uninstalling and reinstalling the software but sadly this did not prompt the program to supply me updated files that could potentially rid me of crashes during my play testing.

I have been searching the internet for solutions but most forums (steam community in particular) but most seem to deviate or repeat the same issue with no fixes.

I think that sounds like a Steam Issue than it is an RPG Maker issue?

This is going to sound newbie question, I'm not a very frequent Steam user and I don't know how to correctly configure Steam to download the latest files, despite changing it's update method :s

1) usually steam updates automatically, but only the editor gets updated, not the projects.
2) you right-click on a program in the steam client to get to the steam program properties where you cen change its settings

3) sometimes the steam download cache can become damaged, in that case you need to clear it as described in the steam help (this is not RM-specific, it can happen with any steam program and blocks all steam downloads afterwards)
4) to get the updated project files for updating your own projects simply make a new project after a successfull update of the steam version

I have tried those methods in that order again, however this is the first instance I have done a clear download cache method.
Unfortunately the files I wanted to get updated have no been updated in the new project created to acquire them.

I'll be trying again soon to see if anything changes, in the meantime it's possible to be fixed in the next update.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the overwhelming support during the first few days of the launch.
We’ve been receiving tons of great feedback from all of you. Many of you have been using RPG Maker MV without running into any issues but some of you have been having problems with the program and for that we are very sorry.

We had over 30 people beta testing RPG Maker MV before launch and a number of problems were identified and fixed. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch all of them and some issues/bugs have been reported over the last few days.

We communicated these problems to the developers in Japan first thing Monday morning and have the first round of fixes/updates available. We’ve detailed them below and more are on the way.
If you're using the standalone version than the steam version, this is the latest build. Please put the files manually in your RPG Maker MV folders.

Languages:
With the new version you can now select the language you wish to use RPG Maker MV in as follows:

Steam : In your library, right click on RPG Maker MV, select properties and open the Language tab. Once you choose language RPG Maker MV will update and start in the selected language on next boot.

You can also open the RPG Maker MV folder and add/edit the Locale file to put only the language code you want (two letters) from the list below :
en // English
fr // French
de // German
es // Spanish
it // Italian
pt // Portuguese
ru // Russian

Translation issues
It’s been brought to our attention that some of the translations provided for RPG Maker MV are inaccurate/incomplete. We are reviewing all of the translations thoroughly and will be fixing/updating them over the coming weeks. Our apologies for this.

Bug when the decimal is set to “,”
This has been fixed

Bug where checkbox would sometimes not display the Check Mark:
This has been fixed.

Bug that could cause the map size to be empty on edition, resulting in a 0x0 map:
This has been fixed.

The bugs listed below require you to REPLACE the base js files in EACH project folder, with the corrected base files. This is only for existing projects, new projects should work properly from the start.

Water Autotile Bug:
Render method was changed and slowdown should be much less pronounced

Frequency 5 Bug :
Now the event correctly stops when frequency is set to 5

Bug when you changed class using the keep XP
This has been fixed

Base Resource : the images :
BaseResource\img\sv_enemies\SF_GothicLolita.png
BaseResource\img\enemies\SF_GothicLolita.png
These have been replaced with a cleaned up version of the image.

Plugin :
Help for MenuSubMember is now in English.

We’re working on more fixes and updates and will be sharing more info about this shortly.
