@CalamityCons Steam doesn't need the update setup - instead of updating the steam version, you installed a second copy of the same editor, and only that second copy turned into a trial - if you would start MV through steam to get to your program, it won't ask for a product key and won't be time limited either.


Simply deinstall the trial again and use the correct version - steam automatically updates the editor, you only need to update the projects manually (and that doesn't require the setup).


If you select the wrong version to deinstall, simply deinstall both versions and install the steam version again through steam and NOT through the update-setup.

I have run into some sort of a weird issue. Every now and then I connect into my home computer from my office using the Windows Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). I've been using other software like RPG Maker VX Ace without issues in the past, but now that I've been working with RPG Maker MV, I've found out it's been acting up when I try running it this way.


RPG Maker MV runs, but when the editor's window opens, it just shows a blank maximized window with NOTHING inside it.


I don't know if someone else's run into this issue since not everyone uses RDP the way I do as far as I know.


How to replicate bug: Simply connect to the computer using RDP, either via internet or local network and run RPG Maker MV. I own the Steam version. I don't know if the same happens with the standalone version as well.


I'm including a screenshot.

Yes, that problem is known - and it is not a problem of MV but of your display driver.


Please search for "white screen" to get more details, but basically your display driver's OpenGL library is too old and you need to update that driver to get a newer OGL version.


RMMV requires a rather new (about one or two years old) version of the OpenGL libraries, and displays that whitescreen if the computer has an older version that does not contain the required display functions.

My problem is with Rgpmaker whitout plugins 


Bug Explanation:  A sword, a shield and a armor have the ability of give to de user the "magic" command, but this command apears three times in the menu; 


before the update i don't have this error... can some one helpme????


I want, although all three objects have the "magic" command, this command will only appear once. This is possible?


Steps:


Place the magic command to multiple objects in the data base


equips the protagonist with such objects
Run the game.

@arkantos how did you give the "magic" command? Adding the skill type should not result in that.


Please make a new topic in MV support and include a screenshot of that equipment from the database, this topic is not for bug reports.or for help with game developing

MV runs well on when I am on my computer, the problem occurs when I run MV via RDP.


This means, OpenGL will not work when I use Remote Desktop, right?

@Shin Kitsune either that or the computer where you're using the RDP (as opposed to the one where it is executed) has an old display driver

Hey guys!


I am really loving the 1.3.3 update (I only just updated today) and the memory problems seem to have gone away which is great (so far). However, is there anything that can be done about the Android version? The sound lag is atrocious and the lag is awful. The game now runs great on PC and Mac but when deployed to Android... still broken.

I use RPG Maker MV from Steam where it is now updated to 1.3.3 and am still experiencing the lag issue on a new project. So I started going down the list.


You say in the instructions to "Replace BGM files if you got it from 1.3.0"... I do not understand.


I noticed in the 1.3.0 list of sound lag requirements that the BGM should not be bigger than 2-3MB; however, there are a good amount of the RDP NewData BGM files that are larger than that. Some like Theme1.ogg are 7MB. Are you saying that these should be replaced? If so, are there smaller versions of the RTP available, a method to make them smaller, or should we be finding our own music of that size?


Edit: Please disregard. I was able to use the TDDP_PreloadManager.js & WebAudioCache.js fix I found under your previous threads on Sound Debugging. This worked in removing the delays. Still curious about the BGM files of the RDP being larger than 2-3MB and also the meaning behind the "Replace BGM files if you got it from 1.3.0"... just less urgent.

Of course you guys can't fix everything at the same time, I do not expect this. I am merely stating that you guys are doing a great job with 1.3.3 (I love the results) and to let you know about the Android/mobile issue (especially since it was a selling point of the engine before it came out.) just in case you guys thought 1.3.3 fixed it (it didn't)


If no one let you know how could you fix it? Again, I was just letting you guys know just in case. That's the whole point of forums and feedback right?

Anyways again, thanks for 1.3.3 that was definitely a huge step in the right direction. Games are now playable across most PC's and Macs! Yay. Keep up the great work and I will keep teaching classes using RPG Maker MV and selling game engines. ;0)~

Stabilizing is a lot more important than mobile deployment at this point. If the PC version, which is a far more superior hardware, is chugging that is a problem. Mobile is more about resource management and heavily reliant on user implementation. We are perfectly aware of it as it's been something there since release and forgive us for being extremely tired of hearing feedback that boils down to:

  • When is the next update you guys take too long to update (when we update always 2-3 months).
  • And if we do update it's always why haven't we fixed x yet.

The OGGs were decreased in size if I'm not wrong around 1.2.0

TDDP_PreloadManager.js works great on the browser version of the game (no more lagging and stuttering on key scenes) however I found that it works terrible on the Android version. It makes it load forever (I am forced to disable it, the sound lag remains though)!


What does the WebAudioCache.js do well (only for web deployment, browser version, not Android)? Do you use it in conjunction with the browser, Mac, PC, or android version? I do not have it (didn't know about it) but the PC, Mac, and browser version (with TDDP_PreloadManager.js) work great.

I hear ya, I am definitely not the one that is noting it because I am being unreasonable or demanding, I just thought I tell ya just in case 1.3.3 attempted to fix it. I am truly ecstatic about 1.3.3 though (most memory issues fixed, works great now)! I am glad to hear that Android Deployment is on the list of important upcoming updates and I will leave it at that, great to hear and thanks again. I am happy to go back to work on Killer Gin optimistic that you guys are working hard and its only in due time.

If you use steam, there's a folder called Base Resources in DLC folder. I'm pretty sure they are there.

@Yanfly and/or @Archeia : Is there by any chance a script call we could use to change the resolution of the game after it has launched?


Using the "$gameVariables.setValue(X,window.screen.availHeight);" (and width) call, RPG Maker will actually give you the resolution of whatever device its currently running on, even going so far as to acknowledge the current setting of your monitor and not just its maximum potential resolution.


Thus, it should be possible to make a script that adjusts resolution to fit the current screen size, but that would only work if this can be changed after the game has booted up.

Just finished eventing a couple simple puzzles in RMMV, for my very first game "Sample Quest." Just messing around, throwing things together, and calling it a story XD On a non-RM note, got my hair cut today!
