    Hi everyone,

    Here is the latest version 1.5.2 in beta.

    Based on the problem reports with v1.6.0, v1.5.2 reverts the upgrade of nw.js and QT, but still contains the unrelated bug fixes and support for GENE.

    We would like to remind everyone to make sure to do the following steps before updating to ensure that when the update happens so your changes won’t be overwritten:
    • If you are using standalone, download this!
    • If you are using steam and did nothing, it should automatically update. Do not use the downloads from here!
    • If you are using steam and don't want automatic updates, set RPG Maker MV's update to manual instead of automatic.

    • If you are using Steam and want to change versions:
      • Open up your Libray / Software section
      • Right click on RPG Maker MV and open up the properties menu
      • From the BETA tab, select v1.5.2 from the "Select the beta..." dropdown
      • Steam will update, and you can check that the update is complete when RPG Maker MV displays as RPG Maker MV [v1.5.2] in you software list.

    If you have an old project that needs updating, do the following:
    • Make a backup of your project.
    • Make a backup of your Generator folder if you edited it.
    • Create a new project or go to the NewData folder in your RPG Maker MV root (where MV is installed) folder.
    • Copy the new js files (RPG*.js and Libs Folder) and replace the one in your -old project.
    • DO NOT COPY plugins.js (the script file that stores all your plugin settings) or it will replace your plugin settings.
    • Copy the new index.html file to your current project.
    • Update gamefont.css just in case.
    • It should now be updated!

    • Fix to experience/stats parameter curve glitches
    • Fix to escape to work on Skill/Items

    • Fix to the crash that could happen on plugin window selection
    • fix to wrong dots on tileset and wrong face graphics People1.png, Inside_B.png, Dungeon_B.png, and Outside_C.png
    • Fix to Break Loop not working correctly
    • Change to the battle background behavior: setting it to none will not show any background for that part, including on world map

    Very good, I did not find any of the bugs mentioned. Only one addendum: the translation into portuguese had been corrected in version 1.6. In this 1.5.2 mistakes have returned.

    @Archeia Since 1.6 sort of screwed up any incentive to buy GENE, would it be beyond the realm of possibility to put it back on It's original 10% sale for another week?

    Thanks for the hard work- will be looking forward to the 1.6 re-release.

    I really hope that "soon" means in the next days, because despite loads of bugs, 1.6.0 also showed a lot of potential! Hope you can work it out...

    @sura_tc It's a good idea, the re-release of 1.6 should be named 1.6.1 to avoid any confusion with the public, it wont be the same thing as 1.6.0 after all.

    Probably not abandoned. But given all of it's problems, it needs to pretty much go back into the oven.

    Got a question, I've updated RPG Maker MV to 1.5.2 Beta and I've updated my project's core files, but when I start a playtest, a dialogue box shows up that has three buttons (Yes, No, and Cancel) and states, "The core JavaScript files require an update to test play. Update now?"

    Is there an project-updating step that I missed, or should I click "Yes"?

    Keep it up I think this is the right choice for the time being. You got enough feedback from the community to work on 1.6 and fix all those bugs and deliver a nice clean(er) version of it. It has a LOT of potential seeing how the performance went up to 200%, so I'm excited to see a new version but take your time to do it right this time. Good luck!

    I guess I am one of luckier ones. I haven't really had issues with 1.6 aside from the confirmed bugs.

    I must say I have not much insight in MV these days but in this few days, 1.60 was up my game ran so fast and almost without any performance problems it really amazed me. To me, this is one of the best updates ever and I was really sad seeing it leaving my computer for another fixing round. Great Job so far even with the bugs inside. Keep up the good work!

    I don't know why but i haven't encountered any major problem in v1.6.0, except opening the console drastically reduces my game's frame rate. However, it's not really a big deal if i don't open console, so should i revert back to 1.5.2?

    Hey, I downgraded back to 1.5.2, and now I can't access any of my maps? The only real connecting thread there is that most of them were nested, what's going on? How can I get RPG maker to recognize them again??
