@Archeia , I have problem with 1.6.0 version. After updating both program and game project it still crashes while setting graphic for event from "tileset" sheets. "RPG Maker MV stopped working..." Every time. Back to 1.5 then...I hope I can!

Edit: Okay, I have serious problem..I wanted to downgrade but I can't do this on steam. Tried to install 1.5 version from this topic, but it wants activation code. Where I can read my steam activation code for RMMV...? :rsad:

Playtesting isn't working, even on new projects. I went to the link to rollback and the page only has a .exe installer. How do I rollback on Linux?

I'm sorry to have to ask, but how do I return to using 1.5.1? The initial post tells me I can, but doesn't really tell me how to do it. Do I need to download the installer and reinstall it?

To downgrade from Steam, go to Properties, Beta and pick 1.5.1 Here's another explanation with images.
As for your activation code if you bought it from Steam, you don't have any. If you bought it fom this website, check your e-mail.

If you use the standalone version, you need to download the installer from the first page and reinstall. (Just as a safety measure, back up your projects.) If you use Steam, well please read what I wrote above.

I'm assuming Linux is the same, either downgrade from Steam or reinstall from the first post.

I managed to find that Betas tab, since it was mentioned in previous posts. However, the box there says "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs," and I can't change it. I click on the arrow to the side, but nothing happens.

Close properties and just reopen it and try again. Steam UI bugs itself out sometimes.

Yes we are aware of this issue with images.

Do not use the installer from the forums, it is not compatible with Steam Version if you bought directly from Steam. To do it on Steam do this:

And same here...just had a horrible crash on my mobile game version after the game slowed down more and more when animations played, it crashed the whole system. This is no joke, stay away from 1.6.0 if your game is picture heavy.

So I saw an update on steam and did that. Felt like it helped a bit on the maps that do static animations, but when I stress tested again my fps rate goes down to 40-55 constantly giving me little lag spikes. This happens when there are multiple animations constantly playing in the background and when animations use parameters like fire flickering and labels popping up if you get close to them. So when I am in a cave with lighting and monsters that have custom move routes and labels, the animation problem is still very much there and eventually still crashes the game (this time without an error screen, it just closed the game). I also noticed that in battles when playing an animation multiple times in a single skill the animation lags and still drops the frame rate by a lot, though that didn't crash my game this time. When walking outside of the cave where the more static animations are the FPS rate does stabilize itself to a steady 60 again and the lag spikes are gone for the map (and it seems battles are LESS influenced by multiple animations too but multiple animations in the same fight still make it become laggy).

Hope you guys can find the buggers in the code that annoy us, developers... Can't wait for a stable version! Will be keeping my eyes out for steam telling me you released a new update.

-- In general the animations memory dump problem still builds up, though it doesn't seem to be that easy to get to that point anymore when you have a static animations background, you do easily reproduce this error when having multiple animations constantly playing. Again, I didn't have this in 1.5 and 1.5.1

Okay, thanks to Archeia, I was able to return to using 1.5.1. Unfortunately, I'm still getting an error message when I try to playtest. Is that an issue with my plugins, or what?

You'll need to downgrade your stuff (RPG main js and libs folder)

I'm having this exact same problem in a Common Event :(

That bug is due to YEP CoreEngine. Update it to 1.27 and that will fix it.

First off, we'd like to present to you the latest tool in the RPG Maker MV series! MADO is a tool that lets you customize the window graphic used in your game. Using it is very easy! Just select a frame of your window and the pattern of your desire for each scene (e.g. message, battle, menu)!

You can buy the tool over here!

We would like to remind everyone to make sure to do the following steps before updating to ensure that when the update happens so your changes won’t be overwritten:
  • If you are using standalone, download this!
  • If you are using steam and did nothing, it should automatically update. Do not use the downloads from here!
  • If you are using steam and don't want automatic updates, set RPG Maker MV's update to manual instead of automatic.

  • Make a backup of your Generator folder if you edited it.
  • Replace BGM files if you got it from 1.3.0.
If you have an old project that needs updating, do the following:
  • Make a backup of your project.
  • Create a new project or go to the NewData folder in your RPG Maker MV root (where MV is installed) folder.
  • Copy the new js files (RPG*.js and Libs Folder) and replace the one in your -old project.
  • DO NOT COPY plugins.js (the script file that stores all your plugin settings) or it will replace your plugin settings.
  • Copy the new index.html file to your current project.
  • Update gamefont.css just in case.
  • It should now be updated!

@Aulette the standalone version is Windows only and there's no MacOSX Version. This is due to the nature of MacOSX that makes it hard for us to distribute a standalone copy.
  • We have already stated to make a backup of your project in Step #1 of the update and in Steam news.
  • We also don't use Java or do anything to scramble your projects.
  • You can always downgrade your project. Make sure to backup it too before you attempt just in case you made it worse. Just downgrade to Version 1.5.1, Copy the Libs folder, main *.js files and then index.html from a new project created with 1.5.1. Similar to the instructions we have written here. Your game should be safe if you did literally nothing else like modifying plugin structure.
  • You can stop automatic updates in order to check news and have time to make backups:

  • You can always stop RPG Maker MV from updating by going to Betas -> 1.5.1

The Japanese site says there is a 1.5.2 provisional version available to fix issues caused by 1.6.
