Hey everyone.  I was just curious if there will be any kind of plug in that will allow for this game creator to become 3D in the sense that I can make a town that looks something like this:

3D itself is extremely unlikely - the maker itself will never be 3D due to the disadvantages of 3D (confirmed in older discussions) and it's extremely unlikely that a fanmade plugin will do that, especially in the quality shown.

However, you can use parallax mapping to pretend to be 3D - using a picture like the linked one as a still 2D background.
That can be done now and even with older makers.

I work with 3D resources making animations and stuff, So I can say that make it full 3D may be impossible in RPG Maker.

Because 3D assets are special formats, made with special programs, and have to be modelled, textured, rigged, animated, etc... and RPG Maker works based in images, I really doubt that you could do it like a 3D console game. It will be just to heavy.

For 3D games you should use Unity or a similar software.

However, how they said before, you could make your own assets, textured to look like 3D, but it won't be full-3D, you will only give the illusion that it is.

Refering to plugins, you may get one that adds frames to the characters sprites for 3/4 views, and make it in isometric style.

Ok so what about tipping the screen a bit more but not necessarily in the 3D way but in an almost 3D way.  And how do I use the parallaxing order to make it seem like it's 3D?

If I may, I strongly advice you not doing that. Rpg maker is not designed for 3D. It will be a hassle and most likely won't give a good result. Better you focus on making a good looking 2D game if you insist going through rpg maker.

If you really really want to make it in 3d, go for Unity or Unreal engine (provided you already have basic knowledge in game design, coding etc). Unity has plug-ins for making rpgs and if I'm not mistaken some are free.

Sounds like what you are asking for is an isometric perspective.  There were scripts to do this in previous versions of the engine, but I don't think any have been written for MV yet.  It would require you to get all new resources as well.

Since the code is wide open now, there's no reason why a partial or full 3D can't be done.  It would not be an easy task though, and you'd be better off going with one of the engines specifically designed for 3D graphics.

I'll see about Unity and see how hard it is to use it.  But I really like RPG Maker though this one is kind of a pain in the rear when it comes to doing things compared to VX Ace.  MV isn't as user friendly.

split view of both versions of the pocket city you traverse through. there's differences like areas only being accessible in one version of Autumn Bay. or events that only happen in one or the other.
theortically if there were a developer who spied on people's game playthroughs and changed things in real time to make it harder for them, what might be said game developer's motivation?
Hi everyone! Enjoying this nice long weekend. How are you all doing? :)
I just successfully tested having events check if specific actors are in a particular party slot and then changing image to match. This will let me make scenes take into account who is in the party at the time and arrange them accordingly - this is important since I'll have extra actors beyond current party. The script used is the same from MV and is compatible with my current core plugin setup in MZ. Thank goodness.
That awkward moment when you're talking about thinking about writing a limited shop stock plugin for MZ and then find out you already wrote one...last May. My memory is so bad.
