Hello! I hope I posted in the right thread this time - I keep on messing it up haha (sorry in advance if I didn't)
I recently uploaded a demo of my game to the public and since I'm a new developer I, unfortunately, don't know much about proper coding and all that, the game works perfectly on good computers, but on computers that are weaker, it often happens for the game to crash - now, it isn't necessary for me to go through this because the game technically works, however, I would like my game to be friendlier towards weaker computers!
I did some looking up, and I came to the conclusion it might be the bind pictures to map plugin being considered a "performance killer" ... which is a bummer because it's used in almost all maps. This game is extremely art-based, therefore I will need a plugin that is going to give me the ability to use a scrolling background (I use default parallaxes for this), a middle ground, and a foreground. Is it true that this plugin might worsen the performance of the game? If so, are there any lighter alternatives to this?
Also, since I'm not an expert, I would like to ask you guys if there are any other plugins that might be hurting the performance of my game and if there are alternatives to them! (Ignore the ones I turned off)
If you have some free time, you could try
my demo and also tell me if you can figure out what might make the game crash/slow down so often for weaker computers? (it works smoothly on my PC) It's not required, of course! But it's appreciated
