RPG Maker MV assets

Hi fellow rpg makers


I am having a bit of an issue with rpg maker mv on my windows machines, whenever I am working on a project on a windows machine and go to any tab that has assets be it scripts, images, sounds the lists are blank but I know the files are there, I just can't select them.





All of the images are missing from the list, be it characters, tileset, faces, sv





same for scripts, I open a project I worked on using a mac so the 3 scripts are there, but I can't edit the existing scripts or add new ones





As you can see, same for sounds.


I don't understand why this happens, It works perfectly on my Mac, but this happens on the windows computer, I have tried it on my windows desktop, a computer at work and I also installed it via parallels vm on my mac, and the same thing happens on all of them. I bought it on steam if that helps.

Most likely it's a problem with the path names. MV requires all filenames and folders to follow networking rules for naming, having problems if the files are in a folder that contains letters which are illegal in a networking environment (for example non-latin letters in a username make the entire user document folder a problem, and that is where the projects are copied to by default.


Alternatively, it could be that there was a failure to copy the files from the "new game" default. Go to game - open folder to open the folder of that project and check if the files are there.
