If JavaScript can catch keyboard events, so will MV. But for input in the pre-coded standard system I'm pretty sure it is ABCXYZLR game buttons again.

MikePjr:  I was really just asking, but I couldn't think of a way to phrase it so that it sounded any better, I'm sorry.  Mostly your questions just sounded a lot like you were being pessimistic and looking for something to worry about then asking "please say it's not so!"  So I was trying to ask "why are you borrowing trouble?"

That character generator is awesome (although I think the heads get bigger each time I look at them lol).

This does confirm that people will have to rely on scripts (heavily) for the type of side-view systems that people use for vx ace (battle symphony, victor's, TSBS). I expected this though (it would start to make the engine complicated to go in that direction).

I do wonder why the sheet is setup like this over the old holder style thou.  It makes it harder to change the amount of sprites per animation and....

Oh no....

I just measured the head in that screenshot again and it is bigger then the last time I measured it!

This confirms that the heads of these sprites will continue to grow till the gravitation pull will destroy everything! (this logic is impossible to refute!)

@Sharm - MV is being hyped really hard, so anything negative will seem pessimistic in comparison (Like everything else that was ever hyped) imo.  

People have even responded to me that with MV it will be easy to make an fps with it.  An fps (which would be easier to make from scratch then use MV) and people where getting excited over this comment.

I am biased though. I hate hype and what it allows in the game industry (or has done to it). Plus the disappointment that comes from people not having realistic expectations.

Okay, my prediction is preorder available today or tomorrow, leaning towards tomorrow as the 1st makes more sense.
I hope a release date will be given also. :)

Sure, if you preorder something, you'll be informed when the release date is. But that doesn't mean that there can't be delays.

Mhhh I would like to know if the game once deployed will run inside an instance of Cordova/Electron/NodeWebkit or something similar so we have support of the entire browser API or will be compiled into something different.

I know there is option to deploy for web, but I want to know what will happen when you deploy for, let's say, OSX, will it just create a prepackaged node-webkit app? And what about phone, will it create a prepackaged Cordova (or similar stuff) app? Not sure how phone behave in that case, might get slow.

The forums gone quiet...I wonder what the mods are up to, possibly planning to announce the release date of MV? I haven't seen a mod post for a while :)

Hopefully we'll know the release date by the end of the week :)

The last big bombshell will be that the FF7 remake, is actually being done in MV. That's right, that trailer was done in MV.

Kidding, obviously. I'm guessing pre-order, and hopefully release date.

I try not to get sucked in by the hyper, but EB, you got me. While sure, MV won't be perfect, what is? They may not have added everything that everyone wanted, but there can be no denying they have done a lot. While yes, saying an FPS will be easy to make in MV is ridiculous, so is expecting them to release an engine with everything you wanted. You want the character generator to have different features, okay, that's reasonable. What feature that was added to the engine would you like removed then, since they don't have unlimited resources/time? What if that feature is the feature others wanted? I'm not saying it's wrong to say you wish it had different features, but don't pretend that a post that suggests the character editor is junk because it lacks some feature, is any different than the FPS statement above. One is all hype, the all is all pessimism. I'm not saying the post about animation frames is that way, or was meant that way, but I can see how people could interpret it that way, especially since we have people whose first language is not English.

TL;DR: some people will post hype, some people will be pessimistic, and some people will misinterpret posts that aren't either of those, as being one of them.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
