"RPG Maker MV has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program, and notify you if a solution is availible."

Anyway to fix this?
I don't even get why it doesn't work, when I've not changed anything between now, and when I last used.

It has nothing to do with Windows 7 (I also have windows 7 and never had a problem with any maker).

Most likely it is a background program that is blocking access (or a damaged windows, but that would show other problems sooner or later).
This happens sometimes after such a program (antivirus, parental protection program, user network restriction firewall or something similiar) is updated, when the new heuristic scan updates gave a false positive. Or it could mean that your computer really catched a virus that has infected the program (and usually dozens others as well in that case)

The possibilities are
1) identifying which program blocks and whitelist the maker IF you're sure it is a false alert
2) identifying the program, sending a report about the case and wait for the next update when the error in the detection files is removed again
3) make a full virusscan to find and remove the virus, reinstall after all traces of the virus are removed

@Neghes there is no need to quote full posts, you can answer directly or with the @Username convention if you want to signal someone.

If you need help finding the program responsible for the block, the only thing I can suggest to post screenshots of the list of installed programs (from the system properties, not a directory screenshot) and we can check it and tell you which programs might be responsible.

If you don't want to post that list of your programs for privacy reasons, the only option is to have someone with more computer knowledge come to your room and inspect the computer directly.

There are several programs there that I don't know, but almost nothing that springs to mind as a problem, aside from the following:

1) CCleaner - unless you know exactly what you're doing, that program will run the risc of damaging your system.
Explaining that would get too technical for this, but it is a technical fact that no registry cleaner ever developed can create satisfactory results. Either they don't work (and are a waste of money and resources), or they create problems. There is no other option here.

2) I didn't identfy any virusscan in that list - if your computer is virusinfected, that could cause the problems described as well (when a virus applies itself to a program in the wrong way, that program can no longer work)

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
