I have to say @Schlangan the generator has improved a lot since I last tried it. Looking forward to seeing what more you add to it!

Thanks for the Hard-Work!^^ I was sometimes thinking about to create an improved version of the RPG-Maker MV Generator but you has already done it yet. Looks great. =)

Do you have a site where we can report bugs (Like the Issue tab on github or a mantis)?^^ I've found a bug with the Update-System.

If you check for Updates in the Version 0.06c you get a message "A new Version is Available 0.06" (Which is older)

If I want go to "About..." sadly the application crashes with the following message:

************** JIT-Debuggen **************

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

Wenn das JIT-Debuggen aktiviert ist, werden alle Ausnahmefehler an den JIT-Debugger gesendet, der auf dem
Computer registriert ist, und nicht in diesem Dialogfeld behandelt.

It shows me the About Window with Informations and an red X I guess there should be a graphic or something else

I found an other minor important bug:

If you have a tab with the message "Missing Icon" (Empty I guess) the "replace"-Buttton is inactive. But if you go to an other part section where is something in and go back to the empty section the "replace"-Button is now active (I guess you just forget to disable it). If you click on it the programm chrashes with the following message:

@petschko : I'm glad you like the generator. Concerning the bug report, it is better to do it here, as I don't have any other specific place to do so.

After each report, I'm adding the corresponding bug information to the first topic, either under "known bugs" if I don't fix them right now, or under "Version 0.07" changes if they have ben addressed.

The Replace button bug (including the right click which is the shortcut for replace) are fixed for the next version. I also fixed the crash in the About window, which was due to the inability of Visual Studio to properly reinitialize the linklabel in the form without disposal.

Concerning the check of the updates, I forgot to update the version number on my server, but it is now fixed too.

Hi @schlangan, got another request for a mod if you have time.

I'm adding a new generator part, Weapon, which will primarily be for walking sprites and face. However, I don't have the ability to add a new generator part to the existing templates.

I also discovered that the back-scabbard on my two-handed sword, or the bow and quiver, are under the clothes on the back, but can't reorder the layer drawing order.

I can 'spoof it out' by adding it as an AccessoryA or B, but would love to just use a new part type for all templates.

 So, requests:

1) Add ability to insert new parts (i.e. weapon, shoes, etc) to existing templates

2) Add ability to reorder or move layer drawing order for existing templates

I'm having issues loading character files, i made a default template based on the template they give in the vanilla character generator and i get this error when I save a character file i made in the previous version. I can make a new one easily and load the file from the previous version, but when i save the file from the previous version, i get this error.

@Build : It seems something is not loading properly from the previous version. Unfortunately I don't have the previous version anymore, hence it'll be difficult to check what happen and reproduce the error. For now I recommend you to only create characters with the current version.

For the next version, I'll be sure to implement error catches, in order to have better insight of what exactly happens.

Hi @Schlangan,

As I'm loading the graphics into the RXGE database, using the Manual method you requested, (delete asset, reload with my new template) I've run up against multiple bugs I'd like to report, and a few enhancement suggestions.

Probable bugs:

When loading AccessoryB_p04, it has 4 face graphics, and one of them uses color 'none' (the buckle). When I load it in using None, it seems to be the cause of a crash. Not when loading, but when adding it to a character. Think the error message is 0 index.

When I choose a different color for the buckle on the hat (AccB_p04), and make it the same color as the thin band (AccB color 2) it doesn't crash, but the Element Data window shows nothing (see snippet below...) I think this is because I have two Face files with the same color. Will try using color 4 for the buckle.

EDIT2: Bizzarre! The Element Data window shows nothing no matter what Part I have selected. However, the Element data is there, it's just not visible. I can change colors on the varying parts, but i can't see what I'm choosing.

I loaded something that caused the editor to crash during Manual load, and whatever it was caused the application to give an error every time I tried to run it. The only way to fix it was to delete the Resource folder and start over. Please don't ask me to try to recreate, it was quite a lot of work to get back to where I'm at on these manual loads... :-/ I'm now backing up the folder after each 2 Manual adds, to be able to fall back to a previous position if that happens again...

EDIT: Now that i think back on it, I probably chose to quit with the error outstanding, and it may have done a partial update to the files in the folder and the data.dat file. With a partial object defined (data.dat updated but files missing, other unexpected combinations) I could see that being an issue.

Enhancement requests:

It would be wonderful if you could take the Name property and put it in the Title Bar of each wizard screen, as with all the objects I'm adding I lose track of which asset I'm loading, especially when called away to dinner etc.

It would be nice to be able to either hide or reposition the default templates, though that's a nice-to-have. As I add new graphics I end up scrolling a lot to see if the color picker is working for my new template.

Once i have all existing Kadokawa Assets reloaded with my Template baked in, I'll post a link to an RXGE export of it. If you plan on getting your 0.07 up before end of month, let me know.

@Lynvia : The disappearance of the element data is strange, I'll take a look once I have a bit of time for this. Concerning version 0.07, it is not planned for a while. It could take several months before a release. In any case, it won't definitely come up before the end of the month.

I've added your suggestion and the current crashes to the list in the first post. Asking for reposition of the templates goes with the ability of editing templates.

Apologies if this is an ignorant question.

Can this generator be used to create swimming sprites?

@BryanBatcher : As long as you have resources, you can create anything you want with the generator. It is made to be able to have as many parts as you want, and so on. But, the resources are not provided by default, you need either to draw them yourself or find someone on these forums who has drawn some.

So when I try to import my MV Generator folder, it hangs at Variation\Male\. I've checked that folder, and nothing appears to be out of order. Would it still hang at that folder if the ordering problem is in another folder?

@GameFire : It is pretty strange, as it should not even hang there for any reason. In the next version though, more safeties will be added during the importation.

A small update on the advancement of v0.07.

I've implemented a new window in the Asset Management to give you back the ability to edit the templates. You can now move them around again, and you can also edit the drawing orders or create new parts if needed. The software will however check if the templates do not overlap.

Don't forget to check the first post of this topic, I'm updating what is left among the suggestions, and what is done for the next version :)

Hello everybody ! Some good news for once :)

Version 0.07 Out ! I managed to add all of the suggestion you asked me to implement. Now, I'll be waiting for more suggestions from you guys ;) . I would recommend you to reimport everything as now RPG Maker MV has created a Kid Category. Of course, there is only one resource available for now. People with the 4th DLC will get more later, but since it is a DLC, it won't be the case for everyone, so it's up to you.

As usual, here are the links.

- Download Link (direct executable)

- Access to the website here

Direct link to tutorials

The tutorials have been updated, but they might need a cache refresh of your browser to see the changes (CTRL+F5 on Google Chrome).

And the version changes to see what I did this time :D

Version changes (Alpha 0.07 - 26th November 2016)

- Addition : Resources can now be edited : changing/adding/removing pictures/mask colors. It can be used to add pictures to existing resources for new templates.

- Addition : Kid resources can now be imported from the default MV generator folder.

- Addition : When importing a MV-like resource folder, you can also import new template resources if their folder name is the key of your template.

- Addition : When importing a MV-like resource folder, new template resources will merge with existing resources. (It also works with RPG maker default resources provided that the importation name is "Generator" or "Kadokawa".

- Addition : New option for managing templates : you can now rename them, change their parts and drawing orders. You can also move them, while being protected from overlap.

- Change : The default RPG resources will now have the prefix "Kadokawa" when being imported.

- Fix : The switch from one textbox to another with the Tab key during resource addition is now properly fixed.

- Fix : The generator won't crash anymore if there are no resources in for a Part.

- Fix : The Replace button will not be enabled anymore if the character is empty.

- Fix : When deleting resources, the files in the Resource folder are now properly deleted.

- Fix : The About window won't crash anymore if it is opened several times in a row.

- Fix : Position errors while exporting pictures with a small windows size have been removed.

- Fix : Added safety checks to prevent crashing while importing MV's folder, if somthing has been altered. Wrongly named files/folders will now be skipped.

Enjoy.

Of course, the idea is to be able to create any template and so on. Fully customizable.

@Schlangan - Downloaded and installed Gen parts...there's no body icons for characters, but no huge deal cuz I can still select them. More seriously though, for me there is no "Kids" option under categories. :/  ... did I do something wrong?
