RPG MAKER MV I Im having problems

Hi guys! Im KaiserDragon27 and Im new here! so, im doing this post because, when a put a monster from another game ( in my case, i put a steel golem from ff4:the complete collection) it works great, but when i put lateral battle, it says error, steel golem not found, so i ask this guys so you can help me out, i will really appreciate this.

That is because it is missing the SV battler file. Those are a different format than the images on the battle screen.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by from ff4 the complete collection, but you cannot use the images directly from the game. Those images are owned by Square and we cannot help you with setting those up due to legal reasons. And, it doesn't matter if the game you're making is free or not, those images cannot be legally used without permission from the owning company for ANY reason outside the basic terms of fair use, and fair use law does not cover making a game with the resources.

Basically, you'll need to use your own images which you draw *yourself* or preexisting resources which can be legally used by the aritsts before we can assist.

So, I cannot use a monster from another game, because I saw videos which they put these monsters from FF and they enable the ''Lateral Battle System'', and my question is, Why they can and I cant? also, do u speak spanish

you misunderstood the answer above - there are two folders for enemies, one for the front view and one for the sideview.
If you put a picture into the folder for front view enemies, it will NOT be available for sideview battles, that is why you got the error. To be able to fight that enemy in a sideview battle, you need to have the picture in the folder for sideview enemies.

And if you want to switch between the views, you'll need two pictures, one in each of the two folders.

And this is an english speaking forum, posts in other languages are not allowed.

As you can see the golems are there when the lateral battle system is disabled

But when I enable it, this is what it says

The truth is, they can't either. Just because someone else on the internet uses it does not make it right. So, yes, if Square ever finds out, they can get a C and D and get their game (and videos) taken down.

Just remember, there is no way to police everything on the internet. Do not assume that because someone else does it that you can too. Plus, for all you know, they might have gotten permission.

Np. And I meant to edit and add something to clarify (was in a little bit of a hurry there) so I'll post it here.

Fair use law does allow the use for educational purposes. So it *might* be ok to use the sprites in a training video. Whether or not youtube counts as that, cannot say (so I might be wrong and have spoken too soon about not being able to use them in a video). So that is why you will want to be careful and not copy what others do on youtube, as there is the fair use law that allows for reuse for educational purposes. Unfortunately, releasing a game does not fall under that, hence why you can't still use them for your game.
