RPG Maker MV Interface wont work..??

I am using RPG Maker MV TRIAL, downloaded from the main site.


Not sure if it's my computer or not, but I run DirectX 9 and not sure if it's something to do with my hardware or not... I can MV games and open the the software with no errors or problems.


I have attached some images to show the error... it's impossible to see the the menu bar above and it starts to scratch away until it's gone completely... then all dropdowns and Generator is completely empty..... Help? :p

I feel like this is an issue with your Localization files (the ones that have all of the text). Not sure why they would be missing for you.

Similar issues have been reported by others in the past.  Have a bit of a look around to see if you can find any of them, and if there are any explanations or suggestions that have worked for those people.


When did you download the trial?  There has been an update released fairly recently that you may not have, and it's possible it solves the issue.  I think if you just download and install again, you should get the new version (or there's an update thread pinned in one of the announcements forums that has the details).  Might be worth a try if it's possible you don't have the latest.

There was one other person who had a similiar problem. If I remember correctly it was because something else was interfering with the editor, but I don't remember what exactly the solution was. So I suggest you try to find that topic - I answered there several times, so you can reduce the search by searching only for post I participated in.

I downloaded the trial yesterday. I have also download the 1.1 (updated) version, still the same problem... guess RPG Maker MV is useless. Oh well, looks nice in screenshots.


*Opens RPG Maker VX Ace* sometimes, older software is the best. :)

No - as I said above the problem was solved, and the cause was something outside RMMV on that specific computer - which is also the reason why you're only the second person with this problem and everyone else can work regularly. You should search for that other topic and apply the solution found there, then it will function for you as well.


I just can't remember every exotic error on every user's computer I helped solving here, so I can't tell you anymore what it was.

I found the topic, you can compare it with your case


In that case the computer had a problem with the chipset drivers of the mainboard, you might want to try to update your chipset drivers

Where do I update them?? Can't find a "Chipset" in my Device Manager?...

"Chipset drivers" is plural because they're several, and yes, they are in your device manager - mostly under "system devices", but you should not update them there.


Check your computer description for the name of your mainboard, then go to the website of that mainboard's manufacturer and download the correct chipset driver package from there. That installer will replace all the drivers that are part of the chipset.

Searching what to play in my dead times, the nostalgia hit me hard and ended downloading the Patapon trilogy, hope I can avenge my child self and beating all the games hahaha
Finished the frontier and...I apologize to anyone who saw the trailer I posted and actually tried it. Technical marvel, crazy disjointed fetish story hidden inside a cheap milsim skin that has no idea what it's trying to be except sanctimonious and failing at even that. As much as I hate fallout 4's story, even it was better. I guess there just won't be another non-parody fallout after all.
Anyone else having trouble posting in the forum? I have no reply box in posts or in messages. This is the only place I can type. @Archeia?
