Well this is abrupt. All of a sudden the program just won't successfully start up on my macbook. It worked fine just a few days before. This has never happened before, and I've been using MV on this Mac for over a year. 800+hours and no issues.

What happens when I start it up: It will show steam launching the app, then show the splash image and the program icon in the dock, than after a few seconds, close. That's it, no info from the error message at all. It just says 'RPGmaker MV quit unexpectedly'.

What I'm using: Macbook Pro (13 inch, mid 2012)
Running Sierra macOS Version 10.12.3

What I've already tried:
-Verifying integrity of Cache
-Reinstalling
-Launching without opening steam (via library>Application Support>Steam>Steamapps>Common>RpgMaker MV)

Also steam is updated. I can't tell if the issue is the program or steam, but I'm assuming it's the program since I've tried it without Steam active. It worked about 4 days ago, and I can't think of anything significant I've changed since then.

-------

Anyone got any advice or info? Or am I alone in this? Any help appreciated. I'm outta ideas. :/

I had this problem to on my Mac. A quick work around is to launch through Steam instead of the Steam shortcut. I had this fixed, but it came back again, so I just got used to launching it only through Steam.

Also in Steam you can, right click RPG Maker MV, and goto Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity. That seems to fix it for a while. Though I see you already did this.

The ultimate solution I found is to reinstall MV, and if that fails, reinstall Steam and MV. I'm just too lazy to keep doing this, so now I only launch it through Steam.

EDIT: I should mention, if you are going to do the reinstall Steam method, make sure to get all the Steam pref files and stuff too when you delete it. I use AppCleaner.

Just yesterday MV was updated to 1.4.0 on steam - it might simply be that the download for that update broke (in which case the verify mentioned above should help), or it could be that the new version is now blocked by your firewall/antivirus as an "unknown program" and you need to update them or whitelist MV there.

Completely reinstalling Steam seemed to work!

Thanks man. Appreciate it. A mod can close this thread if they wish~

I should reinstall Steam again too because I'm getting tired of launching through only the app page.

I haven't had any issues myself, but Steam automatically loads for me when I start MV. You might try Malwarebytes just to make sure nothing's lurking on the computer in the background taht might be interfering with everything as well.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
