Experiencing 'lag' at regular intervals in-game with a 27x15 map filled with water and a small island in the middle.

The larger the resolution the more pronounced each 'lag spike' becomes.

• GPU is OpenGL compatible
• All checks by card provider (ATI) says drivers are up to date
• JSON edit done without improvement
• Redistribution package installed without improvement
• On desktop PC. Resource monitor reading < 60% CPU usage with no visible CPU spikes and full CPU utilization (no throttling)

The NeonBlack CP_Large_Sprite_Fix plugin was causing pretty much 100% of my lag. I turned it off and i now get 60fps. There's still some studder going on here and there, but otherwise things are smooth smoooth smooooth. Don't know what it is about that plugin, but for my case, it was most certainly the problem.

SOLVED

I'll look into if it works better placed in different parts of the plugin list.

After i see how everything responds to Windows 10

I suggest posting it the script support section with the plugins name and just repeating pretty much what you said here so the author can maybe look at it later.

Okay, and now the final dredges of lag have gone.

Somehow, between last night and this morning, the minimal but slightly annoying Editor Lag is gone, as if it was never there.

Now my craptop behaves exactly the same as my beefy desktop does which is aaawwwwwesooooooomeeee.

Also ordinary playtest outside of Firefox is lag-free, as if by magic.

And it's at this point I leave the 'RPG Maker MV Lags' party.

I've got me a game to make!

See ya!

EDIT:

Is it Water Autotiles causing that erratic behaviour?

Probably.

I know 2 things so far that lowers my FPS from 60 to 30.

1. A lot of Autotiles

2. Pressing F4 to go in full screen (Default Resolution)

Full Screen with default resolution actually sends me from 60FPS to 30. =.=

Did everything as instructed, still lagging.

  • Lag during tile placement (Holding down mouse button to map, there is a noticeable lag between 1st and 2nd tile placement, then the rest place smoothly)
  • 0.5~2 second lag while switching between Database tabs
  • Massive lag when playing on a map with lots of autotiles / water tiles
I'm getting this except the in-game lag. Playtesting works fine for me. I've done everything in the OP. I updated my GeForce drivers yesterday for Tales of Zestiria. =P

Editor lag is really annoying. (So is how autotiles work different than Ace but that's not really a performance thing.)

Yes, autotiles are not working as they should, you can see those constant spikes, fill any medium size map (40x25) with water and try again.

Still, they said that the autotile issue should be on another thread, this is to fix the editor lag. (Still not solved here)

I filled a 27x28 map with mostly water to get that reaction.

Normally its straight across FPS, no jumps.

Not only do I get the database lag when I place a tile, which isn't really a big deal for me, but whenever I play test the game, even on a 4x4 grass tile map and nothing else the game gets reduced to 50% speed, no plugins no nothing. I've followed every "fix" in this thread and nothing has helped, and as time goes on I get more and more frustrated with this.

intel core i5-4670

8gb ram

windows 10 - 64 bit

nvidia geforce GTX 760

there's no reason for this to be my machines fault, it's well built and my laptop from like 8 years ago runs rpgmaker mv with no issues. Very, very frustrating.

I don't get any lag on a 256x256 world map when using the default resolution 816x624. But when I use 1920x1080 I get massive lag

when the player is cutting corners while pathfinding to where I have clicked. Other then that I see small lag in the editor but nothing that makes it unusable. I just hope they fix the lag in-game when using a higher resolution. :)

Specs:

intel core i7 4702MQ CPU @ 2.20GHZ

12 G installed RAM

Windows 7 Operating System

intel integerated graphics 4600

I am not sure if this is proper tread  -  but LOT people has also EDITOR lag and crashes while edit  database (when setting parameters of skills etc..).

In my case - i solved this issue.

Problem is related to REGIONAL SETTINGS for some not english native windows.  In my native regional settings, decimal separator is comma (,) instead of decimal dot (.)  - like you have PI constant 3,14 and not 3.14.

After changing this single "," to "." all my lags dissapeared.

sorry for my english I am not native speaker :) .

I'm wondering, what if I took the time to make a Bee Hive mirco-biome. It sounds cute, and be a home to that hornet monster, but would anyone actually use it?
