Hello... Good morning, evening, afternoon or...Every time of the day.
Today we just opened the game project from the hard disk we keep it in and... This happened to some (three) maps

topic 2.JPG

If we try to playtest when we are in these maps, this error occurs.
DETAIL: we load the map "Aula" the token & is "unexpected", when we load the map "Interno" it's the token \, when we load the map "Camera CENTRO UP" it's a number (it says "Unexpected number", so it's a generic number)

topic.JPG
Any idea of how to solve this...? We really really really hope that the maps are recoverable...

What kind of drive is your drive I: ?
I can think of several possible causes for this - it's basically file damage, and that could be caused by a lot of different things from having that drive cloudsync'ed to an instable USB Bus (if it is an external USB-drive) to hardware problems (please use a program like checkdrive to get the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive, if it is far below 80% it needs to be replaced and all files recovered before it breaks down completely). and a few more possibilities.

We put the folder on the computer too, so the hard disk won't give problems to that folder, but...
A scan of 30+ hours is the only way to know what's happening and/or fix it? :(
If you want, we can put more informations from the console about the errors we get.

Sorry if we haven't answered on this, it's a Samsung hard disk of 1TB with a NTFS file system. We don't really know much about those things, this is all the info we have :/

UPDATE:
We put a tileset for trying if we can move and the error was there because the map was empty...
Yes, it was the empty map that causated the error.
It's worse than we expected: like we say in the title of the topic the maps we say in the first message with all the events are reset for no reason at all and... We don't know where to start.
The graphic material is still in the folders, though.

There is always a reason - because nothing in the computer is random (even the so-called random generators are not random but only using mathematics that are too difficult for a human to calculate).
And you need to find out what caused the file damage to prevent future damage to other maps. And you really should make backups to prevent that problem in the future for even more maps.

My question about the drive was if it was an internal harddrive, an externally connected harddrive or a networked harddrive to see where the damage might have come from.

You should be able to get the smart-status without a full scan. and that will not help you repair the files (nothing can by now, that data is lost), but it would warn you if the damage was done due to hardware failure of the drive (which would indicate that everything on that drive will be lost within months if the harddrive controller was already using up reserve sectors to cover for data failures). If the smartstatus is at 80% or above that would be normal - if it were at 50% you should get the data to other drives.

We have one drastic solution...
We do more frequent backups, re-do everything we did in those maps, but we also try to see what caused the problem.

UPDATE: We almost re-did everything, thank you for explaining the problem to us, we will be more careful: maybe one of our computers betrayed us :c

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c

To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
