@Purzelkater : Strange, there is definitely something wrong going on, but I don't know what. I would need to have your generator folder to find out what is the problem. Can you upload it somewhere and send me the link using private messages ? 


@vico : It is quite difficult to add part by yourself indeed. However, due to all possibilities of priorities and so on, I don't see any other way. But keep in mind that the generator has also a function for an easy import/export of resources. If someone create resources and export them with the generator, you get a single file for all resources. Such file is then easy to import.


Edit : v0.04b released, fixing a bug in the importation if non png files were located in the generator folders.



So some advice to how generate a RXGE file from a folder? I thought in using the "Import Default MV Assets" window to point to a Generator folder storing the custom files, and then exporting the RXGE file from it. Still dont tried, don't know if is possible

The RXGE files can be generated from the imported assets only. If you have your own custom files that you want to import into the generator, you don't have a choice, you need to import them manually.


Any resources currently imported into the generator can then be exported to a RXGE file, using the Import/Export assets menu. After default MV importation, you can for example convert the resources to a RXGE file.


If someone provides a RXGE file, you can import it. 


I'll try to look at all current topics on the forum about new parts, and create RXGE files from them. However, it might take some time, as redistributing those resources under the RXGE file format will require authorization of the creator of the resources.

Sad, when I read the description of the exportation window ("if you already have resources with the same name, the new imported resources will be renamed in order to avoid conflitual names")  I thought it was possible to make RXGEs with the mentioned before method.


I thought wrong.


Anyway, the only help i can do for now is to poke generator parts makers to make a RXGE pack for use with the Extended Generator. I will do this now.

HI!, first of all excelent TOOL!!, but I found something that looks like a problem:


I imported the males and females eyes without any problem, and tryed them, and everythig is fine, but when I tried to add the customs, the program doesn't recognize the color mask, and I can't recolor them, because "Color 1" doesn't exist.

Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: I found other problem (or not, but need an explanation): If you try to create a Female FrontHair, it's necesary to set the "Character" part as FrontHair1 or it doesn't appear; I have tried with males and it rules as FrontHair or as FrontHair1.

You are working correctly. It seems the mask color is not saved when there is no other template using the file. I'll have to figure a way to bypass this problem.


Concerning the FrontHair1, that's because charsets use two different FrontHair sets; FrontHair1 and FrontHair2. It is because of the drawing priorities, depending on the direction the character is facing. If you look at the drawing priorities, you'll understand what I'm saying.

Sorry if it was already suggested but here's mine : add different type of ears (or body?)


Because at the moment when you select elf ears it only applies on the facesets and not on the sprites.

@Chaos17 : Yes, but this problem is the same in the standard MV generator too; the reason is simple, there was no elf ears drawn for charsets and battlers, only for facesets. In order to have them, people need to draw the resources. In that case, my extended generator will be able to add them too, if you add the Ears to the priority lists.

Okay, Hiddeone did some elf ears so I will try.


What about beast man ? Someone on the forum made sprites with no human ears.


Can your generator handle different "bodies" ?


Anyway, I'm gonna try asap, your tool :D

Yes, the generator works with Categories (default are Male/Female), but you can add as many categories as you want. In the same way, categories contain Parts (Body, Ears, Clothes, etc.) as well as subparts. I suggest you to read carefully the first post of this topic, where everything is explained with details.

Concerning Categories, Could you add an option duplicate a existing category? So that we don't have to add everything to a new one. That is let's say copy Male then edit it to make it Beast Man.


Also I did add the elf ears to mine. Worked great THANKS!!!

I'll work on v0.05 this weekend, I should be able to add at least two or three suggestions I got until now. You can always check the first post of this topic to see if I've added your suggestions in the todo list :)


Edit : Version 0.04c, fixing the bug reported by @miyanke : Imported eyes have now their proper mask color.

I have to say that I am really loving this editor Schlangan!  I like being able to edit more beyond what the original editor allows in terms of colors and so on.  I'm no pixel artist so it's definitely harder for me to make things like ninja masks and so on, but even the fact that I can edit more colors than the limited amount the actual game editor allows, this is awesome!  If I encounter bugs with it, I'll be sure to list them.  I'm really amped now just playing with making new characters just for the hell of it!  LOL!

UPDATE : version 0.04d


- Fix of a bug for the addition of resource in a category which does not use all parts (for example female which do not use Beard)


- Addition of a possibility to duplicate category, without  copying the resources for now. @CupcakeDreamer, tell me if you intended to copy the resources in one click too.

Duplicating without copying existing resources. Just reusing the same ones that are already there is probably best. I'll take a look at this new version and let you know if I find any problems.

It had happened me with other costumes as with Hiddenone Clothing_p20; I think it happen because they use original pieces, but I'm not sure.

I tried with the new version, but with the costume created by the previous versión, so it crashed.

I have erased and tried again and it rules.
